I have done it now. I saw this and thought it had a lot of potential, either as a strip down/sell off or a keeper and sell my T-maxx. Let me know what you all think. The only thing is, does anyone have a bump starter or know how to make one. I read how to do it and I can't remember how.

I just purchased this off ebay. It has a OS .21 RZ motor, Rix Gear chassis (buggy like, two layer), Airtronics M8 (new) radio, which was the only reason I bought the whole truck, CVD's all around, aluminium A-arms and a lot of other goodies that are on it including new 40 series Big Joes. Take a guess on how much I got if for and what you think its worth. I may end up parting it out if I do not like the truck when I get it but we'll see. I am keeping the radio regardless if I keep it or part it out.

you probably got it for around $500? total

you could probably get close to what you paid if you part it out and keep the radio. in essence the radio would be yours for free.

I would consider what the chassis benefits would be compared to your stocker. I would think the buggy chassis would be better. I would take all the good parts from both trucks and make one awesome truck, then sell the other parts separately. definetly keep the radio

Got it for less ;-)

Thinking about selling off my King Seally Craftsman 1950's band saw to cover the cost and keep both :o)

to keep both is, double the maintenance, double the money, and still only the same amount of fun. Make one good truck and keep that one........just my .02

I used to own 4 RC's and now I only own one......for a reason

yeah thats the rix gear S III chassis. It was the first attempt at making a low CG maxx based truck. not a bad chassis except its long.. 2.5" longer than stock which is over an inch longer than most .21 extended chassis and it still uses the stock maxx tranny which just does not stand up too well to .21's. bceause of the length racers didn't like it and the low chassis was not favored by those wanting to bash so it didn't catch on but for less than $500 its a great deal! I'd run it and see how you like it if you don't then part it out or sell it outright and probably walk away even or with extra money in your pocket.

yeah, I was kinda thinking that but I have so much time and money invested in mine that its hard to sell my first baby. Although I have had offers of just over $400 for mine and thats also hard to pass on.
Do you think that this truck will pass for both racing and bashing? I just spent a couple hundred on my truck that I have not even raced yet, thats why I was thinking about having both. Although I was planning on taking the best parts and making one awesome truck out of this new one but I have to wait and see if I like the setup or not. I got if for the same reason as you stated above, sell off the parts to get all of the money back and keep the remote, but I kinda like the layout of this one too so I am trying to find some easy sellers on ebay to pay for it and for now keep both.



Anyone have a bump box or should I make a home made one to test it out with. I would appreciate using someones if at all possible, but I should come up with something.

Oh yeah and I got it for just under $400. Big Grin Cool Big Grin

It gets even better, I talked to the guy last night and he is throwing in a bump starter and plug heater as well for no extra $$. Sweet. My birthday is on Tuesday I hope he ships it today so I should get a nice gift then.

Thats a good point. I currently own only an on-road and will eventually get my off-road which will probably be it for awhile considering I'll be covered no matter what type of surface/track I drive on.

if I decide to keep just one, then maybe you would be interested in one of my trucks then....huh...huh.....huh.....jk.
Would be nice to have a back up truck or even sell on to get an onroad or a buggy and be covered like mr. associated.

yeah but it can't go as fast and handle like a little race car because its a MT. I really like the buggies but the only place to really run those are the tracks. I thought of another idea, if I make enough money by the sell of one I will do a few more mods on mine and get my son a better truck so that he can keep up with me on climbing and around the house a little better. I don't think a 4yo is ready for a nitro no matter how I tune it down so I will look at a decent size electric for him. I'll pass his truck down to my littler one (under 2yo) who obviously has an interest in it as well and is starting to play with the remote. My 4yo has done that since he was less than 2yo and now drives pretty well considering his equipment and age. that sounds like a better deal to me.

Got my truck in today. Not too bad, about what I was thinking it would be like. Some screws missing, some stripped, dirty but overall not too bad. I fired it up already and it started pretty easy but I could tell the low side was overly rich and I could not keep it running very long. The motor is very tight but the bump box suck. It works nice, its an OFNA universal with two large 12v motors, but its a little more of a pain to keep it centered and have to bring the truck to it to get it started, but I'll see what comes of it. Stil not sure about keeping it, but I will tell you this, it will get stripped down and have the chassis polished before selling it and some of the custom parts need to be adressed as I do not think he was too handy in that department. there are some odd things on the end of the motor shaft and the CB does not properly reach all of the spur threads. And some other things, i will post some pics when I get it better off.

I just weighed it in at an even 11lbs. After the last 15 mins of a quick diet of un-needed parts, its around 10lbs 5oz. He had enough lift on those springs to almost hold me up on it......................jk but pretty close. I took off the sway bar, both f/r bumpers with aluminium mounts, and the 4 inside shocks. The wheel lift in each corner went from about 1.5 inches to around 3 inches. I'll get it running around tonight and have some fun if it stops raining.

DO-U-KNOW what the specs are on the motor? (sorry couldn't resist the name thing.lol)

So whacha do with all the missing/stripped screws? have a chance to get those taken care of or your just gunna run it? I'd just run it. Your probably gunna do a tear down on it anyway so why fix all the screws now.

I replaced all the missing screws and set the suspension the way I like it. I will run it now just the way it is to do some testing.Here are the motor specs:

thats a really good engine. one of the best 1.8 buggy engines out there. I'm sure it pushes that maxx around easily but I bet its hell on the tiny maxx clutch.

Uhhhhh................yeah I can vouge for that 2.4hp rating. This thing rips. I do not have it tuned 100% yet and I already spun a driveshaft off the u-joint and replaced the only plastic axle on there for twisting. But I am sure that it was twisted when I got it, yeah I bet it was. It still gets some lift in the front end and has immediate top end and shifts real quick. I bet it will be hell on the rest of the truck as well. I thought I shattered a diff already so I opened the rear up and it has hardened steel gears in there already. Good thing the diff is ok, it was the driveshaft that popped off that made it seem like it was damaged. The radio is real nice although I have no idea as what anything does or how to change anything. Its great that he dropped the manual in the mail this morning with 2 more new OS8 plugs he found. THE BUMP BOX IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT. I have to get used to this thing and get it setup for a really large truck. The hitec 645 sucks at turning the huge Big Joes. I will probably change to regular stock tires.
On a great note, my airtronics servo came today and I installed that in my .21sb maxx. Man [email protected] sec is sick fast and powerful. I will run the OS maxx more tomorrow and get a better tune on it and try not to brake anything Smile .

Well got it in tune today, this motor tunes real nice and easy. Lots of smoke and great top end and nice take-offs. i could still lean it out a bit more on the LSN to keep it from loading up but I will wait for a nicer day as its crappy out and I do not want to tune it further in this weather. I made a stand for the bump box and moved some things around and it works real nice now and the O.S. comes to life nicely. Tons of power, very quick and awesome acceleration. I had this thing doing donuts on the pavement..........wow, mine only does that when I tie the suspension down. I have it sitting on 4 rather than 8 shocks and it crawls really cool. Kinda like watchin the revo articulate.
I am going to sell it though. Its too much like mine, sick power and great looks. I have too much money invested in mine to not drive it any chance I get so I will let this one go. Its hard to make the decision as to which one to sell but I think I have an attachment to my truck and I want to keep it. Maybe a bad decision but oh well. If anyone is interested let me know, and it will NOT come with the M8 controller. I will install a perfectly working TQ3 in it on channel green. I will throw in the bump box, igniter, 40 series big joes (brand new) and all the parts that I took off it already. Both bodies in the original picture also. This thing is big, but not as big as I was expecting. i think its closer to the Monser GT or around there. the motor makes it a great deal and the chassis really keeps the CG down low. I want $450 for everything.
