I'll be there for a while to watch the races. I'm not yet familiar enough with the Revo on the track.

Also, I have a deal with Astro to finalize tomorrow.

Well I don't know what happened to those rules, I couldn't get the clip for my frequency and did not bring a screwdriver small enough to switch my RS300, after 2 hours of marshalling (and noticing that the same people were on the track the entire time) I left.

RCDad, Did you ever mention this once to a LHR employee while you were THERE instead of coming home and bashing them once again on a public forum???

PLEASE READ THIS!!!
There will be NO MORE bashing LHR on this forum anymore. The Leaders of ChitownRC and LHR is a tight group of guys. When you bash LHR, you are bashing ChitownRC in a sense. We will not be bashed on our own board! PERIOD! I don't care what your opinion is.... To resolve any issues about the track PLEASE talk to Bernie in person at the TRACK. If your to scared to tell him what you think in person, it shouldn't be said anyway. Any post that is bashing ChitownRC or LHR will be deleted immediately and if the nonsense keeps up that user will be banned. If you don't like this new rule there are plenty of other forums out there (keep in mind they won't allow you to bash them on their own forum either) - This will be stickied for awhile until this gets under control.
If you would like to talk to me directly about this my PM box is empty, I look forward to hearing from you.

RCDad, LHR does have a forum of their own, as well. Perhaps a question posted there might get productive results, but a on-site solution of the problem by track personnel this morning prolly would have benefited you and helped the guy in the wrong understand his mistake.

It would always be 1000X's faster and 1000x's better to tell a track employee what your problem is while the problem is existing.

True. While never pleasant, confrontation does usually result in quicker action in solving a problem. Most people prefer to have things go smoothly, especially when complaince with the rules is implied when participating.

A small screwdriver (borrowed) would have solved the problem short term. Bringing the problem to management attention will eventually solve it long term.

I'm not bashing, or even upset, I just made an observation. From now on I won't say anything about LHR.

Furthermore, I think I should be directly banned from the forum for even stating my opinion.

Bringing the problem to their attention would have got the clip to (you)RCDad in a matter of minutes and you would have been able to run today. Oh and these guys (track officials) are SUPER laid back, no "confrontation" needed. It's very easy to state a suggestion or tell them about a problem your having.

Sounds like a plan RCDad, that's the way to go if you can make that happen. BTW, I was not directing that post directly towards you (and you only) there are 4-5 guys on this board that repeatidly have nothing good to say about LHR, and they are the guys that have only been there 1-2 times. I don't think it's fair to the raceway, and if the problems were real problems you'd here the vets complaining also. I have been out there 50+ times easy and I just think you need more experience there before you say anything bad about it.

Well personally I'd say let people voice there complaints so we can offer solutions. Like the one guy, he never wanted to go back until we talked to him. If you say, don't say anything bad about LHR, then people will have no opportunity to help them with their grievance.

Personally, I'm not about to go to Bernie like a school kid and complain about others. I'll just find another way.

I seriously enjoyed the huge work area. I thought the track was about the same size as the old one (except that the big jump is missing) but seeing all the kids playing, coloring, watching movies, etc. I'm taking both my kids next Sunday with an extra table and chairs so they can enjoy the fun.

I marshalled so long my son got freightened for some reason, I don't know if it was the noise or what. I did experience the gunning of the engines and the clay kicked in my face but that was nothing compared to my acrobatic leg moves to avoid trucks. One actually went between my legs Smile

I noticed the Savages were doing terrible, whew boy, the buggies dominated.

No offense But what Grievance could a person have with the new facility?!?!????! The new Leisure Hr. is quite possibly the BEST r/c facility in the UNITED STATES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im in no way a well traveled r/c racer but i have been to a couple places outside chicagoland and well, quite frankly you and anyone else who has felt the need to voice your nit picky complaints have NO IDEA how good we have it here!!!!!!!! Many other r/c track dont even have a hobby store within an hr of the track! let alone heated drivers stands, A/C pit areas oh and INDOOR PLUMBING!!!!!

My best bit of advise to anyone displeased with LHR would be to travel and see what others have to offer and then you'll see just how good we have!!!!

What I'm saying is someone new to RC has no idea (as you have stated) how good LHR is. So they go for their first time and, guess what, they only have an RTR with a #5 crystal. They don't understand why it's always gone so they walk away unhappy.

You and I can explain to them a better way, but, if they are not allowed to voice their complaint than how will they ever learn?

Maybe this is a mute point and I should just keep quiet, I'm unsure, I know how I will make my way to the drivers stand with no problem but I've been around awhile.

Hey people - Just to add a little note - I was down talking to Bernie the other day and the problems that people are having with their radios about somebody else being on their channel or their car going wild - With the car off, radio works fine. As soon as you start the car, it starts acting up - I run a JR system and on one of my receivers it has a broken soder joint in it and when cars off, works fine - when car runs and there is a vibration the car acts up - The radio equipment is all electronics - it doesn't matter if you have a good system or a spectra system - with jumping their vehicles and getting hit here or there electronics can break or have malfunctions - It could be something as simple as that.

On the other note - with the new rules that Bernie put out about no refueling on open practice days and marshalling after a tankful, this should eliminate clip hogging and should be fewer problems - On race days, it is a lot more organized - And as Tex, Rocko, Dent Guy, CMEB4DK, to mention a few have said - This is a hobby to go out and have fun. Hope to see you guys down there during the races sometime this winter.

Dale

R/c Dad i understand what your sayin. Ive said this before and ill say it again. People involved in the r/c hobby are hands down the most helpful people ive ever been involved with. If its a tuning issue,A general r/c question, or "hey how do i get the clip for my freq" question.

If you walk in and act like a mute and dont talk to people, or dont ask someone at the track for help how do you expect to get it (help)???? Coming home and taking shots at someones Mona lisa with the saftey of being anonymous on a public forum doesnt really seem to be the right way to handle the issue ethier, does it??????
