The savage got some gifts today.
#1
Went over to leisure hobbys today and picked up some stuff for the savage.

JR XS3 Pro (the silver one). No more conflicting channels for me now Cool.
El Camino SS body and some paint to go with it.
MSR4 Integy shocks.

They didn't have chrome paint, so I gotta wait to head over to al's on monday before I paint the body. The receiver is installed and tested. The shocks are built and oiled (35 weight), but ran into a snag installing them. The hole for the mount is closer to the cap than the stock pieces, so it hits the shock tower and doesn't fit Sad. Being as late as it is, I didn't want to crack the dremel out and wake everyone in the house, so I'll wait until tommorrow to finish up the truck. I little grinding will take care of my little snag and hold me over until I pick up some aluminum shock towers. I can't wait to fire her up and take her for a little spin tommorrow!

Truck should be mint by saturday for the video shoot Smile. I'd take pictures, but my camera is missing Sad. I'll have to get a hold of jack and borrow his.

Demo, cheers on the radio!! Nice choice Big Grin ..... Jeers on the shocks!!!!! Good god man check savage central before you buy( or ask on here)!!! Those shocks have nothing but shock shaft bending problems!!! I have the MSR- 5 Shock and those sux just as bad and they have 3.5mm shafts (msr4 's have 3mm) Do yourself a favor use the 3 hole pistions, no heavier than 35wt oil and the STOCK shafts... they're MUCH stronger.

OR..................... Dont open the package and return those P.O.S. Shocks and get the Alum. HPI shocks. I wish i would have.

I had the MSR4 on my maxx. I bent shafts too. They did their job and were better than stock but I wouldn't buy again.

The radio is the shiz......good choice

On the packaging it says no heavier than 25 weight! That's crazy. I wonder if all the shaft bending issues are people using to heavy weight oil?

I said screw it and put in 35 weight and the 3 hole pistons just incase. Took her out for a spin earlier, talk about a difference. This thing handles like a dream! Let's see how long these shocks hold up. I don't intended on any rediculous 20 foot jumps, that's what the stock shocks are for Smile. I'm trying to put together a good race setup.

The controller is very nice! Now it's time to start converting the rest of the cars with new receivers so I don't have to lug around a controller for each one.

yeah they do make a big handling difference from stock. I used mine for a year strait so I got my money out of them. I bashed hard with them too. I just bent the shocks back when needed. I used 5lb springs and 50wt oil.

You're gonna like that JR XS3 radio. The receivers are also
the lowest priced out of all the synth receivers. (75 bucks)
I have the XS3 and have purchased 5 additional receivers,
Never had any radio issues. Rock solid stuff.

well last time at leisure hour i bent one in about 4 laps (shock shaft) .i wasnt even running hard! I think integy shocks are the 2nd worst on the market..... hot bodies being #1. I thought i was purchacing the best but only got burnt again.

I hear you man, I bought tons of stuff over time that was plain out garbage. It's like a waste of money when you could have had the best all along.

Awww crap!!! I just picked up a set of Integy shocks for my MGT.
100 bucks for 8 shocks. I hope I'm not gonna get burnt.
There just isn't a lot of options for the MGT right now.

I have to say that they LOOK cool. The have reservoirs like the
stock shocks, but unlike the stock shocks, they actually function
as reservoirs. It was kind of a bitch getting them to fit. The lower
balls are narrower and required me to find shimming washers.
The tops are too wide. The say to use the stock locknuts but
to INSTALL THEM BACKWARDS! Rolleyes
A quick trip to the hobby shop tonight netted me the correct
hardware to do the job right. Amazing for shocks that are
supposed to be a "direct fit". Rolleyes

They work for sure. They just aren't the strongest by far. TMAXXJOSH from showme is selling (8) like new big bores with trinity springs for (I think) $50.

I have the integy shocks on my sportmaxx, so far they've worked out ok for me. Of course my truck isnt as heavy as others and my truck doesnt get the abuse like some other trucks do.

lol, They didn't fit right for me either. The distance between the mounting hole and the cap is less on these than the stockers. I had to crack out the dremel and shave down parts of the shock tower to make them fit good.

I didn't notice that. I guess I better re-check. I was pretty tired when I did it.

Demo, or anyone with integy shocks!!!! I went to there site integy.com and i told them how mush thier product sucked and they said they would send me new hardend shock shafts to replace the crap ones the shocks came with . You guys should do the same thing. Make them pay for putting such a turd of a product on the market!

Im still running the stock shocks but with the purple "FIRM" springs. Those Integy shocks are expensive. This truck is going to put me in the poor house right after I get out of the dog house from the wifey for spending so much money on it, lol. My only saving grace is that I use to spend a lot more on paintball.
