The only part that really gives it up is the tires rolling up the ramp. Still very cool.

It IS real. If a weight is properly place on the upper side of a tire, when it is hit it CAN roll uphill. This one is completely TRUE...

In answer to the most frequently asked question about the commercial:
The sequence where the tyres roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight [in each] tyre and when the tyre is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tyre rolls up the slope.

This truly can happen (I'm not saying that it DEFINATELY happened in the commercial).

In my High School Physics class, we did something similar with internal weights, and causing an uphill roll. The roll is only good for about 1/3 the diameter of the tire, depending on the slope of the ramp. That is why there is a series of tires, rather than one tire going completely uphill.

In Junior high i was in science olympiad and they had an event like this . we had to design a contraption that lasted for 60 seconds and it was all simple machines like this. we had to start the machine by placing a magnet somplace and it had to end by launching a ping pong ball into the air. and we had to fill up the time with other simple machines. its was really hard to get our project to go once with out helping it along lol. i would of gone crazy trying to do that commercial.

Knowing how efficient Japanese engineers are I am shocked that the head of the company didn't fire everyone involved with the project. He would have preferred they DID computer generate it and save $$$$$$$$$ in the studio. And who would have been less impressed?
