T-maxx conversion for snow help

Hey all, I was wanting to get my t-maxx ready for the snow, I am not sure exactly what I need to do, I know i read something about plasti-dipping servos and such, but not quite sure all that I have to do. Anyone familiar with getting a t-maxx snow ready, any help would be greatly appreciated.

first water proof ALL the electronics
turn you tires backwards (if you dont have skis)
put alluminum foil around your cooling head if your temps wont stay up at 220 degrees.

Try and waterproof anything electronic and just make sure you dry it off and matain it afterwards. Blowing it dry and spraying areas like bearing/axles down w/ WD40 will help it survive and not rust up. If you want to Plastidip your servos, just dip them in slowly until they are completely covered plus about an inch of the lead wire. Let it dry overnight and carefully trim around the servo gear. Apply a little grease around the gear, re-assemble the horn and install. Balloon the reciever and battery pack, and you're all set.

could you please put the pics up, because it was annoying wanting to use it today and yesterday when it wasn't snowing, but was snowy out.

here are my tires, do they need to be reversed?

to waterproof it faster just take some sealer and put in on all three servos on both cracks. let that dry for about 2 hours. then put a ballon over the batterys and place them in the case. then take the reciever case and put sealer all around the crack.

I did it this way and I took it out and when I went to refuel I came back and my truck was gone. so I was like WTF!!! and them my little sister started laughing and I realized she buried my truck in two feet of snow. so I dug it out and it started right up. as for the throttle servo mine now makes a funny noise but not much of a difference so you may want to plasti dip that servo and dont let anyone bury it in snow. hehe

yes reverse your tires.

I would strongly suggest not reversing your tires. Chevron style tires like those do not work well at all when reversed.

Yeah... traxas you are wrong on the tires. I tried them both ways just to check in the snow and backwards they just pack up. Foreward they work quite well. As said earlier... seal ALL electronics to be safe and dry it down as best you can when you are done. If you are interested I have 2 traxxas 2055 servos that have been sealed with RTV silicone for winter use that I am not using. I may keep one as an emergency servo but PM me if you are interested. They are better than the stock 2035 ones that come on the maxx. (at least I think thats what they are...)

i think stock steering is the 2055, im not sure what the stock is for throttle

well I reversed them and they worked good in the powder snow for me but I would leave them the right way and see how they do and if you want you can reverse them. the reason i tried reversing mine is because someone on here said that they would work like paddles when reversed.

I want to use it today though, and there is snow on the ground already, I am sick of letting the snow decide when I can and can't use it.

also what is best to use to seal the servos?

I meant what kind of sealer stuff, like how Dan said he has his sealed. I was planning on using sealer on them, and then using baloons for extra safety.

just run it and try and stay somewhat out of the snow. Don't waterproof that brand new t-maxx....leave it be ...In my opinion

I have run my buggy many times in the snow this year and only ballooned the reciever and every thing is fine. Servoes still work great and the hump pack still holds a full charge. Seems like a waste of time to me now! my $0.02

'most' of the time you can get away clean after running in snow without proofing it... occasionally something does get wet and either fry or tempararily shut down.
