Is This Safe?
#1
I went out today to run a tank of my new fuel after tuning it a couple days ago. I knew the grass was lower than the curb where I was driving, but I guess it was lower than I thought. I don't remember how fast I was going, but it couldn't have been that fast because I knew there was a big bump.

I hit the curb with my front skid plate. The truck stopped. Tried hitting the gas and the motor would rev, but the truck wouldn't move. The engine slid over because the engine mount screws were not tight enough (I do use locktite, I don't know how they came loose) and my wire ties on my rx and rx pack broke.

I am wondering if it is safe to put the Rx pack in front of the shock tower like this. My main concern is that my skid doesn't come up at all.

This is how I had it.

From the pics, you're just asking for the rx power wires to get cut by some freak of nature accident having them all exposed like that. No where else to strap it down?

Should have said that that's not how I plan on routing them. They will be safe.

I have a different idea. Is it ok to run the receiver not in a rx box. Is it ok to get dirty?

Just put a ballon over the reciever and zip-tie the ballon shut.

I was thinking of doing that, but the balloon will hold moisture.

It gets dirty inside the rx box on my truck! Just don't get it near the fuel tank or you might splash it when refueling. Balloon can't hurt.

my sugesion is to get a flat pack and put it under your chassis next to the center braces. not only will it be out of the way but will lower your center of gravity.

the balloon is fine, as long as it isnt wet when you put it in there, i put one ziptie around the neck of the balloon, and then i put another one around the base of the neck

Thanks. I am in the middle of testing a few different locations and so far none of them are working.
