rc plan
#1
So my wife and i were going over the bills and expenses before taxes get done, and i am now given a $100 a month rc budget, but i can choose to save up for a couple months if i so choose. that comes after pretty much all my big purchases. So all in all im pretty pleased there was no yelling just conversation. just wondering if this is common with others wives or not?

I don't know...does my wife yell at you much?

Kidding aside, my wife hates the whole RC thing because of the clutter that goes with all the "stuff". It's taking over the laundry room where my bench is.
She also dislikes (hates) the "day off" we get when we go to the track for 8-9 hours. We avoid housework and chores on those days (which so far this year is 2). She never yells really. She's just very good a choosing her words to let you know that he isn't happy about the hobby and doesn't want it becoming a bigger drain on time and money.

that is the same way my wife is about the whole thing, not really yelling but good with words. She thinks its funny that I like to play with toys and how it takes up so much of the our time. With my new job I only work from 7am to 3:30pm so I think that she will be much happier now that I will give her more time and she even said I will be able to go to one practice night and race on Sundays and I wont hear one word about it.

That is how I used to have to do it in the military also, I know how much you get paid and to be able to run a couple of nice cars like you have now you almost have to be on a little budget like that.

I really wish LHR was open during the day because it would be so easy for me to go there between 8am-5pm.

I agree with Dave, LH should be open from like noon to 10:30 pm on practice days. That way 2nd shift people and those with flexible schedules could go.

Ehh...what she doesn't know won't hurt her...that's my motto

They all look basically the same in her eyes, it's just a r/c that I'm working on. It's when she saw them all lined up on the same bench...That's when it became a reality!!

yeah I have the $100 a month budget in place right now actually at home. The wife swears she doesn't hate my hobby, she just hates anything that goes along with participating in the hobby. I already told her I will be spending about $800 this year on traveling expenses alone, she about died.

I was gonna say no lifelong partner, friend and companion, but that gets it across, too.

No children, no family. But heck, Ryan's young and has plenty of time to ruin the remainder of his life by settling down and having kids.

naw that aint gonna happen dave. Im fed up with trying so i figured out my life the other day. Gonna spend a ton of money on my self and have nothing but fun in life. Im sure once and a while il have a little fling but knowing me it wont last that long. After i get hurt from that short little dating period il be spending tons of money to feel better again. By the time im 26 i plan to have 2 cars, 4 wheeler, all the rc stuff i ever wanted, ect. My life is just gonna be spending money on me and having a nice job. Ive really got nothing else to look forward to. Ive got no social skillz for a gf, no will to go out and do anything with anyone, no looks, no self confidence. Spending money on myself is the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I'll raise that to his revo, hellfire and sp2!!

Ryan I was saying the same thing at 18! Still kinda the same at 21 but I know that that theory can't last forever! Also you don't need SKILLZ to get girls! Just be yourself! Trust me on this! As not-so-great-looking as I am, I have dated 2 cheerleaders, 1 stripper(shut-up everyone) and a bunch of other girls. Granted most of them have been a little  but personallity will win!

thats the problem, myself is just sitting in my room all day on the computer posting or at work or working on my rc's. I never go out with friends unless its you guys at the track. Once and a while il go to mcdonalds and grab some food but thats it. Plus im a very quiet person and hardly ever say anything around other people in public.

I've got a friend who is very socialable around friends, but not around strangers. Wasn't the go-getter type. Wouldn't talk to girls at the bar when we went out. I could go on forever. But you know what? He's engaged and getting married and the end of the year. He's only 25.

Moral of the story is, there is someone out there for all of us. It's only a matter of time until you find them. ryan, you're young. You'll think differently in a few years, I guarantee it.

ya tex my wife is about the same she doesn't hate it heck i gave my old maxx to her just so that i can make it something we can kinda do together, but when i pick up packages all the time and its rc stuff she sgets a little pissed, Ryan, i know how ya feel hell thats what i did until i got back from Iraq last year, plus i didnt have ne bills so bought mjyself all kinds of stuff, but while i was down there i guess it got me thing a little bit about things, thats cool if you can pull it off but its not easy its built in i think and after a while the things you thought made you happy dont seem to anymore, like i can't wait for my baby boy to be born so i watch him grow up, and become the best damn pit man there is lol but seriously whatever makes you happy, just dont be surprised if what makes you happy changes from time to time. Smile dave tell your kids to stop playing in the arcade and getting high scores, and tell your wife to quit yelling at me lol Smile
