I'm always thinking of ways to make some side cash to help pay the bills for this site. Of all the ideas I've had, this may seem to make the most sense! Make custom stickers for RC's! Why wait months or pay too much for stickers?
I've got a test batch of white and clear vinyl label sheets coming in the mail. I'm looking for some beta testers to test out stickers for me. I've discovered that vinyl labels aren't anywhere near as cheap as regular paper, so please, don't ask to be a beta tester if you simlpy gonna throw the stickers in your pit box and never use them.
I'm looking for those who'll put them on their rides right away and use and abuse their rc's! I need to know how well they hold up to the riggers of bashing and racing.
I've attached some samples I've been working on so you can see what they might look like.
The first run will be a straight up label sheet and you gotta cut out the stickers (we've all done this, so it's nothing new). I am in the process of getting my hands on a vinyl cutter so in the future (if all goes well), all the stickers will be precut .
I will test them, it will be bashing only though, as I do not race yet, but I am out everyclear day driving my t-maxx.
My R/C's:
T-maxx 2.5-front rpm a-arms, front/rear alluminum skids, pull-start, ofna failsafe, 5 cell hump pack xmod red 1969 camaro with 6 cell conversion, stage 2 motor and body kit
xmod Red Toyota Supra-no upgrades.
xmod Silver Acura RSX-has green underglow lights, and blue LED exhaust, and body kit.-My parts car(as it is broke, and too lazy to buy part to fix it) xmod Yellow Acura NSX-has body kit(sometimes put the RSX body on it)

Definitely worth it. I will be getting a new wing so I would love to throw some on there. I wouldn't mind adding some to my current body either... let me know. :-)
Cool, lots o volunteers! I'm expecting the first set of vinyls tomorrow. I'm gonna print some stuff and do a quick check on stickynes to a body and resistance to fuel and nitro cleaner. If that goes good, I'll pick a few people and print out some test stickers for them to try out.
my brother used to have the whole vinal set up with the cutter that made the stickes...they hold up well on most things..ive had aolt of them on car windows and they made it threw alot of car washes and eggs, and markers...if any extra i will try some too..ask dan or rob i beat my maxx till thier is no way it will move any more..i need new stickers anyways all of mine have pealed off...lol
looking for something new to buy.... like a lst2 or something let me know what u got..................
if the RC gets bashed hard enough, NO stickers will last so i'm not sure that would be the best testers IMO
Maybe choose a couple bashers (that bash alot) and a couple racers (that race alot). Maybe one racer who doesn't wreck too much and one that is more of a b-c main guy. This way you get results from every spectrum.
I would buy some after you get all the testing done and all comes back good. Its a great idea Mr.Tune

The stickers is a great idea John. I'll buy some.
True, but I'll know if mine were the first to get destroyed or the last .
Well, sorry for the delay. Here's a little update...
The first beta run was a disaster! Fuel wouldn't have a problem in the slightest to remove all the ink on the stickers, lol. So the research continued to find out how to make the stickers fuel proof.
The other day, I discovered that good all-weather stickers require an overlaminate. Basically a thin piece of clear film to coverup the sticker so the printed image is safe from the elements, in our case, nitro fuel.
Since I bought some clear paper along with the white, I figured, screw it, let's see what happens when I take the clear and put it over the top of the white! It worked great!! I made some up real quick and I'm gonna put them to the test! I'm gonna shoot carb cleaner, nitro cleaner, nitro fuel, etc. all over the sticker and see how everything holds up. My biggest concern is the edges. I gotta find out if the adhesive on the sticker will hold up to the worst I have to offer. .
