Ryan... if it works for him ever then it is worth it. He is a basher and not a racer so the added weight is not a problem and is rasily outweighed by the benefits.
And dave you're such a nice guy. :-) LoL

Its not even about the weight. Its the malfunctioning ive seen on dozens of them. But im not gonna get into it. Its his truck and his money so he can do as he pleases. If it works for him then more power to ya. As long as you have fun thats all that counts.

You have to wonder why Dave doesn't use it on his revo though...Why is Dave selling the FS?
I'm personally against them, they cause more problems then solve them IMO from my experiences.

the radio's like the spektrum that have them built in work great as far as ive seen. Ive actually gone half throttle down the street with my m8 spektrum and turned the controller off just to see if it actually works. Without a hitch it immediatly cut out the throttle and just slowly rolled to a stop. Turned the radio back on and it came back into my control.

mine does that too only I have the fail safe on the truck not in the controller

I've seen peoples failsafe kick on in the middle of a main for no good reason. I've also seen people blow servos when it's set wrong. I've also seen peoples rc's run away with a failsafe on it!
of course I've seen rc's without failsafes run too. It's either a crystal falling out of the RX or one of the (servo/batt) connector wires pulls out of the RX, or an antenna gets pulled off. If the RX battery comes out of the rx you have no power over your servos failsafe or no failsafe.

yeah i just use a return spring, i usually dont have to many problems with my electronics coming unplugged or something like that, but i did one time before i got a return spring on the maxx. ( i need to get another one ) It has saved me once when my pack decided to dump when i was going full throttle down the street.

Well I have the ofna FS and no issue with them and I turn off the radio and it works as it should.
Same for my Spektrum radio FS. When I first set it up I did it to brake until Slim mentioned to me to set it neutral. I also use the spring too in addition.
