okay,
recently I sold my GS-storm, no interest in racing, just bashing, and as such didn't need the buggy.
I kept the JR radio gear as well as the servo's and reciever.
What I want to do is use that radio gear and build a savage.
I don't plan to do alot of bashing, just want to build a really cool truck, and I do plan to drive it...
What I want to do is build a savage using the truckzilla kit and a set of Jumbo Kong tires...
Here is the kicker... I want it to look really original, so I want to dye the arms to color match the chassis plates which I plan on painting to match the paint job of the body.
The hardest part of the whole truck, I want liquid cooling...
Does anybody have any ideas?

Not a bad idea but just a lot of unique touches. The painting and building of a truckzilla kit is not really anything difficult. The water cooling has been done before by a few and is a decent idea but having enough water to actually cool the motor and a fan big enough to cool it down fast enough takes a lot of space and adds considerable amount of weight. You can get small liquid pumps that run on 6v and just attach copper tubing around the head tightly, run that all to a central cooling coil (you can just wrap the tubing around a small cylinder to get the shape) and locate the fan in the middle of it.
Jumbo kongs do nothing but rip apart diffs, axles and wheel hex's so I would say skip it and get something else like some jumbo maxx wheel and tires as they are a lot smaller than the kongs but bigger than most anything else. should be a fun project but yes the cooling will pose the biggest issues with look and functionality. Sounds like alot of work but alot of fun at the same time. I would suggest instead of painting the chassis and arms, maybe powdercoating this way the wont scratch up.

thats a pretty good idea... The other idea I had was to try to rubber coat them. They used to make this stuff that you could spray and when it dried it had a texture to it, I don't know how well it would work,

on the liquid cooling, jack suggested trying to find a head from a boat, and then for the radiator I was thinking about finding a liquid cooling system from a CPU and just use the CPU's fan and heat sync, attach some rubber tubing, an expension tank, pump and I good to go

air cooling works sufficently. Or did you want it for coool factor (no pun intended)

the liquid cooling is simply for the WoW factor, i realize that air cooling will probably work just as well, and as a matter of fact, might acutally work better, but the liquid cooling is just to say I did it...
It's the same reason why I want the jumbo kongs along with the truckzilla...

skip the water cooling and just hook up the dual truckzilla kit with twin .26's (or maybe it was .25's, can't remember) That would definatly give you the WoW factor.

yeah but you will also require a resevoir to get cool water as that fan or any fan for that matter wont cool it enuff just using the radiator.
I am a computer nut , I have had water cooling and vapor cooling , I went back to good old fashion fan and copper heatsink . If you want to go liquid , I wil help any way I can , but I dont think its possible , I hope you prove me wrong , that would be cool as hell .

Why dont you figurge a way to put a four stroke motor on a savage.... Its been done but i think it would be cooler that loading it up with ghey aluminum and show parts.

Because 4-stroke motors have little to no horsepower... .5 HP from a .4x sized motor (listed on Tower Hobbies)

for the cost of that kit I would rather just build that new Kyosho truck (the one with twin motors out of the box)

I saw the ram air on the giga crusher, but when you see it in person, I wonder if it's big enough to feed two motors. I am thinking the performance of the truck would be alot better if you just put a pair of motorsavers on the motor.
