I was looking into one of those titanium spikes that they used to use in battle bots...

I played the tortoise and hare game again, rolling over the tripples, while guys would fly over them only to crash on the other side. Boy, marshalling was lots of fun as you constantly had to watch what was flying at you when trying to get someone's truck. I was doing the same thing that girl in the video, grabbing the truck and running out of the way. One of the workers there got hit in the face.

Dude within the first 5 minutes on the track marshalling after my tank (I only did 1 in practice to keep my truck in running order lol) I had cought a buggy on the trip....Woulda smacked me in the face too..I was watching everyone else slow down (there was a crash) and smartass guy has to floor it into me! lol But yeah I kinda hit it to the ground and let it sit till everything else cleared up...Fun day though. All that happened to me was a blown glow plug and lost body clips...Oh and a partially stripped hex (my nut loosened so I was running with FRD and the power to the rear was just going to the loose wheel.) I finished my 3rd qual awesomely. Within 2 minutes of being out there, I lost both front body clips so whenever I'd hit second it'd fly up....Actually it helped over the triple honestly. I barely made it before that and now I was clearing it every time! Apparently people were laughing about that....lol I left my fuel bottle at the track though....kinda sucks.

RCdad, those pictures are Bruce Edwards' (satoch) truck.
It sounds like we didn't miss anything by not racing yesterday except for breaking parts.

I had a good time as always, meeting Tex's family was a treat. Both my engines (since my new found tuning ability) were running sweet. I did post in the LHR forum that I think jumps that high in an indoor track are far too hazardous to marshalls. I had a real bad feeling yesterday that someone was going to be taken away in an ambulance.

I saw that. I can only hope everyone realizes that they are in control of when they step out to marshall a car. I would never risk it unless I know nothing is coming. And I would hope a driver would cut me some slack if I did step out to marshall when they are coming toward me.

Those vids are very informative...thanks for posting them.

I was thinking one solution may be to have the guy at the computer have everyone stop for a moment. I'd hate to leave someone out there and watch there truck run out of gass because traffic but it looks like that's the only alternative.

While the marshals are complaining about there car being flipped over, or complaining because people are hitting them when there upside down, The guy who has flipped should be yelling to the other drivers on the stand were they are crashed at. For instance, if you flipped over on the double, then shout out DOUBLES twice and that way everyone on the stand knows to slow down at that area but yet allows everyone else on the track to keep going. No matter were you crash shout out your location so everyone on the drivers stands hear you. Either front straight, back straight, triple, whatever. By just shouting double on the drivers stand instantly makes the other drivers aware of that area and will slow them down. I know your not gonna hear it every time somebody yells but it will greatly reduce the carnage out there.

It looks like a tough place to marshall. I would hope that experienced guys would man that spot. I know I wouldn't let my 13 y.o. son do it there.

It's kind of difficult for the inexperienced drivers (like myself) who are doing all they can to concentrate on maneuvering the course to listen to the other drivers. I've actually thought of taking someone's advise and wearing ear plugs.

Of course my truck flying over the tripple was non-existant.

Rocco, while I do need a better digital it's impossible to drive and take an action shot. That's what RCDad (Earl) had offered to do originally.

As to the mechanical carnage, sorry to here you guys had so much! I was pissed at myself for not checking my clutch assembly and totally fried it. Oh well, $12 lost ain't bad.

I'll try to get more action shots of you guys and your cars, thing is I forget who's car is who's. Maybe before you go out to practice come get me.

Rcdad, Your telling me your not gonna hear somebody next to you yelling TRIPLE? Its really hard not to hear the other drivers on the stand IF there yelling something. Even if you dont hear it, it may prevent somebody else from crashing into you because of somebody else flipped over. Not everyone is gonna hear it either but at least half of the people will and will slow down for the area called out.

another possible alternitive would be to have a second person up in the booth
to call the race. i think everyone can hear the pa . the only time i herd any
crashes at the trip or straight was over the pa,and i slowed down till i herd it was clear. just one guy in that booth is not capable to watch a computer and anounce positions and possible hasards.
