Revo Questions
#1
Looking to get more top end but not losing a ton of low end. I was just wondering what kind of set ups some of you revo guy's were runing. for myself i run more for fun than i would at the track. so let me know what you bashers are running as to pipes and stuff like that.

Bigger motor!! LoL The 3.3 or any BB that you can fit. (Or can make fit) As a cheaper route I noticed that my vantage pipe gave me more top end. I am pretty sure that Mr. Tune has had good luck with it as well. I know you can always gear it up a bit but then you will lose low end torque. IMO I would rather have the torque than the top end...

well stock gearing gives you about a middle combination of top end and low end. If you want more top end change to a smaller spur gear or larger clutchbell. Your gonna lose bottom end if your going for top end theres no way of getting around that.

Dual exhaust suck. They don't provide enough pressure for the motor....

For some reason the one guy at Hobbytown Aurora likes to recommend that Tsai dual pipe? Dunno much about it. Seems it would be more flash than substance. It can't possibly be "tuned" as well as a simple pipe.

I am going to be testing the stock pipe against the Vantage this week. At first I felt the Vantage worked fine, but on the track it seemed to not perform very well. Maybe I just had a bad tune going that day? I didn't get enough time to test with it before racing with it back in Feb.

What you really need for that Revo is a cool set of wheels and tires...like Pythons on Hurricanes!!! See For Sale section......

the dual exhaust from tsai is crap. One guy had one at my LHS and It wouldnt tune at all. Stalled out a lot. Engine temps went sky high. He put the stock exhaust back on and it had no problems.

I think this is the same guy that was not much help with shocks for the REVO. I went in, and said I need the "Orange Shocks" for a REVO. He went to where they were hanging on the shelf, and said "All we have is red". I had to explain that they were all red, but had a paint dot on them signifying the color. And the description on the package states the color as well.

Now I don't expect everyone to know everything about this stuff, but isn't that pretty basic? Or am I expecting too much?
