My latest scale build up

that is one of the funniest things ive seen in a long time!

Jim started with the old skid plate by forcing the old dents and bends out of it.


After getting it back into shape he reinstalled it to the chassis.



After that Jim started mounting the new headlights.


Jim called Jane out to help


They had the lights on in no time


Jim held the grill in place while Jane guided the bolts in.


After the grill was bolted down they both worked the chrome into place.


Jim noticed a gap but he said he will fix it some other time.


I guess the bumper will have to be trimed up some to.


Jim bench pressed the rear bumper into position.


Jane helped him bolt it down.



Jane heard the Vroom noise of a mail truck and went to get the mail. She came back with a license plate.

I fixed the issue with the torch, I was using the single flame head like what is used for plumbing. I went with my old benz-o-matic 3 flamer and finished the brazing. Not a job for Jim, he doesn't have enough safety gear to protect him.

I did get one side done today it took me a while to figure a way around the battery pack. The battery pack has to slide out the side, so I made the slider become the battery hold down.




Jim likes them


Didn't make it any easier for him to get in though.


Just a few more things then it's ready for the 4x4 trip Jims gonna take.

Thanks to a guy finding me a bogger tire, I should now have all 4 bogger tires.

Passenger seat is in the mail along with the drivers side brake rotor.

Jims hillbilly twin brother Rick, will be making appearance soon.

I finished the other slider, Jim kept begging me to show him how to braze. So I suited him up in alum foil and went to work.

My buddy made vids of some characters and some cars back in the day (like 1991..lol) you can make jim build that truck....lol
Basically you move jim, capture, move jim again, capture....continue

Yep Jim used to be Professor Xavier in his past life, Jane was a Spice girl.

I have made some lame r/c videos way way back in the day with moving action figures, I should upload them sometime. They are so lame they are funny.

I'm actually more excited to get started on the video then finish the truck. I think about the story line of video everyday when I'm at work.

So far I'm going to try to make the video appear as real as possible.
I am going install a onboard camera the size of a nickle in the cab to ride along with Jim. And have a normal video camera to take normal footage. I might record some audio from my real truck and edit it to make it sound like Jim's.

Several terrains ranging from:
Highway (to and fro)
Beaches (jumping dunes)
Hills (climbing)
Rocks
Mud

I have been scoping out possible local locations. Its tough to find good places of low population. The last thing I want is someone I know from school or work to come over and ask what I am doing. I'm just errrr playing with action figures and a toy truck and recording it.

I am nearly done with the truck I have a few more things to make or mod.
