10/8/1871- the great Chicago fire. Approximately 250 people were killed in the fire; 98,500 people were left homeless; 17,450 buildings were destroyed along with the original Emancipation Proclamation.
Chicago Local 281, protecting lives and property for over 100 years.

Well, let's start off saying that the 3.3 is FAST!!!!! I started off breaking it in at factory settings, using the Heat cycle. During the first cycle, temps were in the 200-210 range at factory settings. After letting it cool, and restarting, the temps went up to around 230-240, so I richened it up a little, getting the temps back down around 210. Again, I let it cool down, and restarted. the temps were around 230 again, so I richened it up again, keeping temps around 210. By the time I was done cycling the engine, I was about 3/4 to 1 turn RICHER than factory settings, and just had to set the low speed needle. With running "Normal" the temps are in the 210-220 range, and if I do continuous, LONG (200-250 ft) high speed runs, the temps climb to around 240-250, still blowing plenty of smoke. On asphalt, the tires spin, on grass, it pulls wheelies.

After breaking it in at a parking lot, we went to a construction site Firesprink knows about, so it was time to have fun... lol

As he took off, I decided to chase him. My Revo was gaining ground on him fast, and I misjudged the edge of the railroad tie along side the park. (From the angle I was looking at it, it looked like the railroad tie was almost flush with the ground), Needless to say, I was wrong.... The front wheels easily made it over the tie, but the rear skid plate caught it, sending my truck FLYING a good 20 ft.

Enough rambling, now for the results....

Results:

Shattered Bulkheads
Bent Hingepins
Bent hingepin brace
Broke Skid plate
Broke Aluminum Shock end
Pulled left side axle out (not broken)
Rear P2 Rocker broken

Donations welcome.... lol J/K

Not really... It was too loose at Camp Maxx, but set up for indoor. I might use thicker oil now that it is apart...

If anyone wants to see the full size pics...

That's the best job I've seen on a revo yet! I don't even think one that was run over by a full size car had that much damage.lol

It's ALIVE!!!!!

Turns out the Revo Hingepins are about the strongest I have ever seen. Not even a slight bend. The Bulkheads were shattered, the skid plate was cracked, one rocker arm was cracked, the rear aluminum Hingepin brace was bent and the chassis was slightly bent.

I don't think you could have done a better job than that with a hammer!

Now I know where the diff is! Doesn't look like much fun to get at...
