This is crazy, I can't belive the negativity I'm reading. The track isn't even done yet, remember it's a work in progress.

There will always be risk associated with any hobby or sport. That is what gets the adrenelin pumping. These cars are flying around the track and that is what we are there for-to see who is the fastest. Talking about someone falling and getting hit in the head by a carbecause of a wire? Well I'll tell you what- In all my years racing(15 years) I've never seen someone fall because of a small piece of wire. On almost every occasion I've witness some one take a tumble was because they tripped over their own two feet or didn't lift their leg high enough running over a tube.

I'm sure leisure Hours will do the best they can to make it as safe as possible but there will always be some type of risk in this hobby and talking about someone getting hit in the head and their eyes rolling to the back of their head just isn't cool.

Anybody want to start a basket weaving competition with me? I bet I'm faster than you lol Sounds safe unough, but will the adrenelin flow?

Revo, your going to need a mouth guard, Lacross helmet, and snorkling goggle's, before you race outdoors. Safety first LOL!!

Bernie, I'll get quotes for you on the hoops. I'm sure that I can get 5/16" rod stock for less than $3 for 3' from Chicago Steel or W.H. Laurence.

Hey Bruce....FWIW, when I'm at the track and I'm marshalling during practice, I stand at many of the marshal spots. I look around me and if I see a loose hoop I push it back in. I pick up loose ones and re-plant them. I pull rocks off the track if I see them......maybe try that yourself when you get to the track. Do a walk around and re-plant the hoops. That way you'll know there's no loose hoops and it might only add ten minutes to your day at the track. Oh yeah....I also empty the ashtrays in the smoking pit too, when I'm enjoying a smokey treat...... Just a thought........I'm being serious....

5/16 is to heavy. 3/16 is heavy then I have now and I can get for 2.50 a three foot lenght. But like I said before I want to get the outside done first.

Kenji, I would hope that most people replace hoops and remove rocks as needed when marshalling. I know I do. It's just that I'm a bit out of shape and it gets hard after awhile.

McMaster-Carr supply has 3/16" x 36" rods for $1.88 each. These are hardened and would prolly hold their shape well.

Or, soft steel .192" diameter wire, shipped in a coil, is $151 for 1000'. But that stock would have to be straightened, cut to length, and bent into a hoop. And would probably be prone to rebending during insertion into the ground.

Anyone have a good corporate discount with these guys?

There has been posts before stating negative comments about LH will not be tolerated especially on things that are not finished or still in the works. Also stated before if you have a suggestion or concern call LH and speak to someone directly.

It has gotten to the point that any new updated pics will not be posted until everything is completed thanks to all the bitching and complaining. So now you will not see any updated pics of the progress thanks to a certain few.

People just need to let the LH staff do there work and all this complaining just holds up the process. Bernie and staff are always looking for ways to improve the track. BUt there are priorities that need to be completed on the track in a specific order and this is the concern of LH staff only. As a moderator on this forum and this thread all inappropriate posts will be deleted by myself and the other moderators.
