The more I read about the ST-1,the more and more it sounds good. Besides new servo's. The rest of the truck sounds tough.
One downside to me posting this. With so many saying 'dont bother' as to the revo in the truggy class. The more fuel it gives me to try it LOL. But I wont do that. So it seems like I will be ST-1 hunting soon unless a better offer comes up.

Well I was thinking of using the 3.3 and see how that runs. And if I dont like how it turns out. Then upgrading to a .21. But I am guessing that seeing it will still have the 2-speed even with the center diff. I will still have to run in the MT class. Seeing I already have a revo. Pointless to have two that are built to race.
I am at Amain also right now. I want to be sure that there are plenty of replacement/upgrade parts before I go and buy. And it seems that Amain has that. Does the shop carry these parts also? Would rather buy from my local shop rather than online. Seeing my track here in kankakee is closed as of today(sat. 7-29)

Seriously consider the CRT, great parts availablity and relatively cheap in price. Plus their team support to the local club racer is unbelievable, CHad Bradley is always onthe grid trying to help out with questions. Plus all the drivers set ups are available online.....

Yea but I am looking at the money. Droppin close to $600,then another $200-300 for a motor. The price difference is to great for me. I know its a great truck, but having the best of everything isnt going to mean a damn thing if you cant race it.

Well I am tring to work this guy on ebay. Has a St-1 for 325 new. But seeing I would like to get this thing up and running ASAP. $500 max right now. Between this month and next,I will have more. 800-1k,or around that. I will figure something out. I saw that the motor and servos are the best thing to do upgrade wise on the ST-1. We shall see what route I go. I have been looking for CRT's also on ebay.

For servo's, a couple of JR650M's will get you going at around 150oz of torque and <.15 transit time, $50 a peice.

150 at.15 is to slow if you thinking of racing competetively... IMHO
Do you have access to the s grid

the motor that comes with the st1 is pretty damn fast a great indoor motor, i dont know how well it will do on the huge straights at LH but it is enough motor for the truck and not too much to get u into trouble when racing

I will figure something out. I figure I will have something race worthy before the pro series comes to town. But I doubt I will race in that even with my revo.

Get the crt. Ive raced my revo in the unlimited class many times and unless you are perfect its very hard to be top 10 depending on competition. The only upside to racing the revo in the UMT class is once you race the revo in MT class you will most likely smoke everyone in it.

But what are you running motor wise. Got the center diff and rear break? Any other upgrades.

i used to back when the truggy class was just starting to get big. I had os .18 then. If you plan to race pro series you wont be able to race your revo but if its just leisure you should be ok.

No,I dont plan to race RCPS. I have a golf outing that day. I know the 3.3 wouldnt run in that even with the center diff(if I had any of that, just a 2.5 right now). I doubt I would run the 2.5 either. But that was my main question. Would the people(both racers and owners) let the 3.3 with a setup for truggy let it run? If the motor is no good,I would change that out for something bigger, lord knows that isnt a problem! LOL

So have I. But I heard bad things about the 2.5R and that has worked fine. I think it is all a matter of luck(like everything else) and doing the break-in right. Like heating up the motor before you turn it over and such.

motor isnt really your problem here. The problem is your racing go-kart compared a a fullsize car. Its capable of doing ok at best but you have to dump a lot of money into it and 500 bucks isnt gonna cut it. Your really gonna save money just getting a crt or any real truggy.
