Jerry, is it the pictures, or do the pins go from blue to purple in spots?
11-19-2006, 09:41 PM
Its a combination of the photo, some color bleed and the way the light hits it. (also refered to as...accidental cool effect)
A word of caution for future reference: The pigment in the SpazStix red candies are so strong they will bleed through every thing they touch, even the waterbased paints. You need to use this color first and plan around it very carefully.

Or use it's evil power to your advantage! the color shift in the pins looks toxic....it gives me ideas.....
I like the stone stippling....toothbrush?

Awesome. Great work.

DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 Wrote:Yeah, I think I might know. Does it involve a flat stick? Actually no...That works better for larger areas. I came up with this one myself. Pull the fluid needle back w/ no air flow so the paint forms a dropplet on the needle, then give it a tap of air only (no fliud) this allows very controlled yet somewhat random placement. (it's also nice becase it's a one handed operation)

Thanks for sharing. I've gotten the tiny spatters before, but never by trying! DOH.

I.e. able to change the size of the dots, etc.) lol

I was already using the airbrush for the rest of the effect (streaks, cracks, etc.) so the paint is already there. The size of the dots is easily controlled by the size of the dropplet formed on the needle tip ( btw this will really only work w/ a gravity fed airbrush)

Obsessive R/C Wrote:( btw this will really only work w/ a gravity fed airbrush)Thats what you think. lol What you can do is take your sucker brush :p: and turn it upside down (with out the bottle or jar attached) and add a few drops of paint and now it is a gravity fed brush.
