well are they worth it? as far as I know, there are not to many changes one can make to this truck like you can for the Revo(talking about mod's you can do at home) or am I wrong and just not found or heard of them yet.

Nice..just got my Werks B3 put in. Had a blonde moment and forgot to order a plug so I have 4 of them(want to be safe). McCoy #9's. Got the ofna 086 pipe along with it. Just have to break it all in along with the new 3.3 motor for my revo.
Knowing me,I will wait till the last minute right before Mahomet next Sat. to do all of that LOL. But really,I do plan to be out at the track to practice and get the tune sometime next week.
Oh and also changing out the diff's ATM. 7-30-3 is the set up I will try for now.

Well I plan to heat the motors up everytime I go to start them during break in. Would it be a good idea to do that for the first gallon? I hear that these motors are so tight for awhile.

It wouldn't hurt them any. What breakin process are you planning on useing?

Not fully sure about what break-in I will use. I dont feel to easy with the Traxxas one. I like to just let it idle on the first tank. Then start to work it in after that going up to 6 tanks.

That's what I do. Seems to work fine.

Wrap a rag around the head, run it soft for 2-3 tanks, making sure it runs over 210*. After that, start leaning it out and go have fun.
That's the procedure I follow. The key being, running very rich, not going full throttle and keeping the temps up all at the same time.

Or use the heat cycle method. Same stuff doesnt matter just as long as you get above 210 and cool it back down then run it again.

Well got the first tank in last night. Had the head wrapped and all that. It never went over 160. Tried to open the throttle alittle and that got like +1-2 higher. Leaned out the high a tad and same result. Same on the low. At the end it was 164... I didnt go nuts on the changes. Just a hair as if I were tuning. But plenty of smoke and it did idle fine.

Wrap the head more. Do something. Your motor NEEDS to get above 200*. You're killing your internals on a new motor by doing that.

mainly the connecting rod takes a beating when you break in a motor overly rich.
Sounds like you need to tune the needles more than you did to reach optimum temps.

So lean it out more? I will try that,I didnt want to go to far in fear of having it to lean seeing it was the first time it was turned over. But it did turn over fine, stuck at TDC a couple of times.
I am more worried about my 3.3. I have heard alot of bad things about the con rod either splitting or even in some cases just blowing up.

u dont really have to lean it out much, just wrap a sock or a rag on the head to get it to like 200-210

yes lean it more if your temps are under 200F and the head is wrapped. Start with 2 hours leaner on the HSN and repeat the process if needed. You quite possibly could be a full turn too rich so don't be shy on turning the needle.

probably not a full turn but you get my point, don't be shy on the needle.
And Mikey he said the head was wrapped already and it only hit 160F
