Nope...Hence "HAD" in the wording.
I had to give it up---Getting divorced. loosing my home and yadda yadda yadda.

My electric bill to run the tank alone after figuring it out was about $160 a month and I went through a bucket of salt a month at $50 a crack and the other stuff adds up too. SO you have to be able to support it financially.
I was able to with selling Lego sets and parts...that it what paid for 90% of the equipment.

I hear ya Kevin.
The down side to this is you can't even get 50 cents on a dollar with reselling this.
With what I mentioned above I think I walked away with about $6500 in the end and tears to go with it as it went out the door.
I put my heart and soul into it and ppl just came over to watch and sit.

Sorry to hear of your marital status..

I would have loved to see that tank bio... Any pics?

The LR I was getting was not the common stuff like FIJI.
I had some more exotic rock and double to triple the cost of what you get now and it has gone up in price.
Notice in hurricane season cost for LR, Fish and corals go up.
Come Winter---prices may drop at the mom and pop shops.

I hope so, it will help so much to make it slightly less unaffordable, LOL

I do have some I have to dig them up and post it.
I never did take it all set up. I took them of the start up and cloudy.
The ones on my site kinda give you an idea.

Maybe the next time I am at LHR and I have my laptop I have video of my 120 prior to my 180. That tank rocked.

You piled the hell out of it with sand and rock---that is a watoosie load there.
There is a saying reefers have.
"Sometimes less is better"

As for selling it off.
The best way is to sell all the LIVE stuff like corals and fish as a package or two.
The sand and LR as another.
Then when it is gone start the bidding on the hardware.

This was 3-1/2 years ago when I started it.
Then 1-1/2 years later as it was just getting going it had to go.
You can see why I had a hard time letting it go.

No that is the 180 and I had another 200 gallons under it.
I plumbed it through the floor and it had a 4200gph pump.
I had to cycle that water all the way around about 10x's and hour.

Yes I built it from scratch...I have pics of the process of building that stand and canopy.
The kewl part of that stand was a screw up that ended up being one of my signature designs and ppl loved it.

You see the bottom is all white. I got antsy about getting it up.
So I built a removable shell for the stand...allows easy access for anthing.
I have built 8 of these like this and the guys who maintain them love it.
It take 3 screws to mount and dismount the shell. under 5 min and you have the whole bottom open to view.

Another thing is as you see in the pics---my stands are not like the production ones where a tank sits on the edge of the actual stand.
None of mine are made like that just in the even it leaks or something.
Then the water will not weaken the structure.

Also I know build them glueless---it is all cut and screwed together.
Heck the jig was just under 200 to do this and a big time saver.

A few fish sites. The second one, ask to talk to Barbie, she 's awsome with salt and a good fish friend. Fourth one ask for Tom, he's the owner and has been doing fish for 30+ years. No salt here, just cichlids from africa and central america. No pics yet but I can take some and post if anyone wants to see em.

Ugh. I'm overfeeding I guess, my filter had this thick (1/8") brown goo on the one side and the other side was completely caked....I had algae growing on my stones and shells, and the water was hazy. All this within about 2 days... And guess what-I'm out of filter cartriges (sp?). My tank gets to sit motionless for the night. I bleached the shit outta the filter housing, the large decoration rocks in the tank, and some of the other filtering device thingys. I made sure all the bleach was cleaned off though, I'm going to re-rinse them off again tomorrow before I put them in. Will my fish be ok tonight? I took out 1/2 of the water, 5 gallons, and replaced it with fresh clean stuff and added sterilizer stuff I have for the water.

First off you never bleach anything especially for fish.
The best thing to use and it does not harm anything if there is residual

Use Vinegar to clean any aquatic parts
