strange clicking noise
#1
hey guys, maybe you can help.. I've been running my savage x and when I do I get a weird clicking noise. I thought it was the diffs so I rebuilt them, it didn't go away, I thought it was the tranny, so I swapped it out, the noise is still there.. it won't do it on the workbench, only when running...

is it possible to have a rod knocking? I'm drawing a blank.. seems to me, I've pretty much replaced the drivetrain and nothing is helping.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks!

It doesn't make the noise when you just push the truck along the ground?

It not, maybe it's in the clutch? Did you open it up and see if the springs and shoes are ok?
got paint?

Ponch - yes, I have the dual brakes on it... now that you mentioned that, my brakes are gone (as in no stopping power), maybe you are on to something. Hey, aren't you supposed to be getting an education or something during the day? after all you are our country's future, it's looking bad enough now, maybe if you GET EDUCATED you can help out? Dave, hadn't thought of that, I'll check it out tonight...
