Anyone planning on racing electric this winter?

Proven XXX-T chassis
Novak SS4300 Sensored Brushless Motor and ESC (ROAR legal)
Factory-finished body
JR XR2i computer radio system with digital trims and 2-model memory
High-Torque Z-590M steering servo
Factory assembled and ready-to-run

Its says its a sensored motor, What are the difference?
Should i look at something else.

for a beginner electric guy the sensored Novak will allow you to be faster on the track than some ballistic crazy fast BL setup. The fastest one on the straitaway means nothing when you hit the wall at the end. Being smooth through the infield is where you will win races.

If you were interested in bashing (like ThirdGenTA) then I'd say get something ballistic, why not all your doing is drag racing and jumping 60 feet.

You seem more like you want to race so the Novak 4300 will keep you in line. Plus no maintenance and long runtimes.

Sensored motor can cause cogging if the batteries arnt up to snuff, but i wouldnt worry about it. also the esc that comes with that rtr can only handle a 10.5 turn or less i have a 9 turn which is a little crazy for the track but i can program my power deliver , amount of power to get it where i want it. Tex is right less is more on the track sometimes.

some GP3300's or better will work great at first. They are $25 each at Radio shack. Plenty of power.

They are not supposed to be the main source of power, RX packs are ok.
