Best Engine for Revo
#1
What is the best engine for the revo for the best price? ( ie not the OS30VG )

Just leave the 3.3 in there. It's acutally probally a little too much power for the Revo unless you are a hardcore racer and are really good. Other than that just for bashing the 3.3 or 2.5 are fine, pretty reliable too. (or at least the 2.5)

3.3 is by far the best motor I ran in my revo. I had both the os .18's, 2.5, 3.3. I would just stick to the 3.3. Its got a whicked power band that cant be beat in the truck.

mines well over 2 gallons and going strong, no play anywere and still tight compression. I dont know why you people cant make a motor last.

I have an AB Modded Stage 2 TRX3.3 in my Revo and it rips hell! It smoked my 2.5R, OS18TM, Modded 2.5R and even will even take my friends revo with an EB Modded 18TZ. I have 2 gallons of Odonells 30% through mine and i can still barely turn it over.

A .28 in a revo would most likely destroy your drivetrain. Not worth the investment putting any big block in a revo other than the WOW factor.

3.3 or os18 are the two best choices.......and both of them aren't even that great

i can make my motors last long......its just that i got mine when they first came out, so thats prolly why.....so many people had problems when they first came out, maybe theyre great now but they werent at first....... its not that we cant make motors last long

I have it and I have an original 3.3 motor. I got mine the second they announced the news about the 3.3. I talked with shivers at traxxas and he managed to keep one set aside for me for a couple days so I had one of the first ones released. Never any problems even with the stock carb.

no need. Stock 3.3 kept up with bobbo's modded tz at round 1. He couldnt pass me and I couldnt pass him. It was close to an equal match in all rpm ranges. Plus mine was only 130 and his was pushing 300.

I don't care what happened at round 1, a 3.3 can't hold a candle to a ebtz (I've owned both). Just ask the (3.3) people that were being passed like they were standing still at the fall flameout by me Smile.
of course motors always run their best right before they blow but still....haha

I dont care either. Me and him were neck to neck and to me that proves both were near equal. But take in to consideration that a motor doesnt mean anything unless you know how to drive.
