I been reading the thread that I posted in the 2nd post, they said basically the same thing-use softer fuel tubing on the brakes and possibly cut the brake spring down.

Shh!!! Naa she paid for it...I watched her. But I was with the Visa lol.
You guys are correct, I got it from B-Main. Got that and the foams for $488.75, cheapest I've seen an 8ight with extras anywhere.

Huh?? And that was a really good price. I will be keeping my eye out for one in a few months. Take your time on the build though so you don't ruin $hit....

buy a tonys screw kit with it, cause I heard that all the stock screws are non metric, and theyll be stronger screws.

How did you get it that cheap? If I put the 8ight in my cart, it is I think 495. Only 5 dollars cheaper than a-main.

I asked that question on the grid and they said the tony's screw kit is standard screws too. Don't even have the buggy yet, but I ordered one.

Just a thought.

Yep, getting a Tony's kit.
I used the coupon-you needed to get the total price above 500 (hence the foams) to use a 25 off coupon. For those who don't have it, its "8ight" just type it in the coupon box on the right hand side bar.

Even with the 25 off, the 25 wouldn't even cover the taxes?

No taxes, they're from VA. (I think they're from VA....)
So $6 shipping, and the box got to me in 3 days (ordered the 7th, got the 10th)

Yeah, be sure to check around...I bet bmain will still be cheaper even if only by a few $$$... I'm happy I ordered when I did, they have ZERO in stock now....lol
I like kits, and my last kit was built very well...I will go fast in building, but not going to ruin it.
I'm going to pick up a threadlock "stick" because I heard it cures faster, you have to use thread lock on the screws that hold in the shock pistons and have to let it sit for a few hours + or it'll fall apart. So that's what going to take me the longest, I might end up skipping ahead a few steps before I even start and threadlock them together so that when the time comes where I was supposed to build the shocks, I don't have to wait.

Sounds like a deal to me. Looks like I'll be getting it from there instead of A-main.

just going through alotta of the rough sections and sweepers and stuff, I know i heard enough guys bitching about it, it seems as if puting the motor centered like they did is causing handling issues, cuz if you think about it it changes the roll center alot and puts the center of gravity up high in the middle making it suceptable to traction rolling when u catch ruts

Makes sense. It is possible that they sacrificed a bit on that type of handling for added stability in the air? Maybe if you have enough cash run the 8IGHT on a smooth track and something else on a rutted.... I imagine that there is a setup that will make it work though. It just takes time.

You guys can believe it or not but, Mitchell Pacin's 8ight went through the whoops on the front straight faster and smoother than any other buggy there, including the expert 8th scale A-main. That's the truth.
