I want to still keep a M/T and I also want my son to start racing, but if they continue to run against truggies, he won't stand a chance.

Product releases do drive this hobby and UMTs are everywhere now. I have never owned a MT as they seemed to need more $$$ to upgrade to be reaceable. That's why that class never appealed to me and why I have stayed with my XXXNT and will run it this winter.
There is definitely a "wow" factor now with the truggy class that was with the MTs when the TMAXX came out way back when. The 1/8 buggy class has always been popular. I see truggy as an extension of the MT concept, just bigger and built on successful buggy platforms, so the necessity to upgrade immediately is not there.
More "beginners" in the increasingly popular UMT class will happen bcuz RTRs are not that much more $$ than MT (as stated before) and truggies are just plain coooooool.
But there is plenty of room in the GT class for nitro noobs, I just don't think that is where they will go.

M/T is a class that will be dead soon (at local tracks).... The fast guys are moving on to more techincal and rewarding classes... Like AMT and 1/8. Lets face it.... Being good in one of these classes is impressive on a whole nother scale!
Dont get me wrong wheelin an M/T around a track and hanging with truggies takes talent and a well tuned machine

My revo and everything that goes to it was sold yesterday for $300, starter box and all sets of tires included.
I've raced it for 2 solid years, I need a change or I'm out of this hobby. GT for me!

I had guessed.... I saw that "GT for Me" under your name earlier today. What are you picking up? I thought for sure that you would have gone to buggy or truggy....

MT is a kick ass class...the only thing that brings it down is everyone always saying how "basher" it is and stuff like that. Then once a few "liked" people go around saying it the followers just get it stuck in their head that it's a crap class.
If you've never competetively raced MT then you have no room to talk about "how it is".
Rocco knows it's fun (he raced MT for a few years) but he's being brainwashed as well now.
Look at Steve Slayden and the likes, all they race it MT (for the most part). Actually a lot of pros race MT, maybe not every week but they race it multiple times a season.
I will miss it a lot

I think it is dieing. I think, people like myself, start out in the MT class. Most of the guys haven't raced before like myself. After racing a few times to see how I would like racing, I dropped a few $$ to buy a buggy. I think those that race MT see the "good competition" in AMT and buggy and that is why almost everyone is switching. You can see who is serious about racing or if the person is just out there to drive on the track with the way they drive.

the big pros race MT at big races solely for the track time, guys like Tebo Tillman and the rest, thats how the truggy class picked up. If you didnt race truggy you were at a big disadvantage cuz guys were getting double the track time and u werent
