Well any word on this place??? I heard the hold up was the wife wanted to plant flowers there and was taking for ever. Also heard this was somewhat of a pipedream and would never come about. I hope this place opens up. There is not enough local places for us up here to run.

thats when only a few of us ran gas trucks like ira, ken, rod, greg, scott, that track was great. and no one ran 1/8, you had to travel to run gas thats why i quit. after you run gas electric just seemed boring

Who are all of you guys who remember Valley Farms Raceway? I now live just a few miles from there, but they are no more.
I see a fine fellow from RaceEmRc is proposing a track in the area. I hope it works. I wrote him a letter of support. If it doesn't work out for that track, I am going to need some advisors to see how to develop my back yard into an electric-only (sorry, its the noise) racing area. This years track was just a 50x40 small personal track for practice. I can just mark out an area in the dirt for my farmer not to use in the next planting season.

(This post was last modified: 12-04-2007, 11:14 AM by BobWoodhouse.)
I was wondering if my land would be fun to bash on since it is pretty flat. I am occasionally running at a track out of town (extremerconline.com for a picture) and they have some wooden jumps that really work out well. I anticipated making some next year just like theirs. They have some carpet on the face -- might have to find some "outdoor" carpet for me.
I am really really hoping that RaceEmRc works out, so I can just show up and race. You know our part of the state is way short on track space, except maybe for DirtDawgs, which I have had a hard time locating, BTW.
What I probably need to do is find a club that already knows what they are doing and that matches my goals mostly and assign them a piece of dirt. There is no way I could run a track by myself -- what if I had to work out of town one weekend, what if my track design ideas are stupid, etc. I like the way the MARCCA club near Madison works at that farm.
If you feel that bashing on flat ground would be worthwhile, I could setup a time. But I need to keep it towards electrics just to keep reasoanble neighbor realtionships.

Thanks. I thought it was a set of more than 1 track, but you have this main track? I think I tried to find you on a day that was a special race maybe near a Hobbytown or something.

Hey, that track says 51 minutes from my house! That is pretty close. Do you get any electric out there? Will a 2008 schedule come out later? What are the turnouts like, the layout, the dirt, the tires? What are you looking to do next?

Dirt Dawgs did have 3 tracks at one time but now it's just one big track and the property owner is also a member / racer. The owner pretty much gives us the ability to do what we want with the track as far as the layout and events.

How many electrics to make a class?
Is the track too rutted for 1/10th?
I think I need to find an electric club to run my backyard just like the track you have -- if you ever want to consider a branch-track.
Are there any club meetings coming up?
