Everybody hacked everybody....All you heard in the mains was John saying "Lets keep it clean guys!"
1st 2 quals were iffy...Each got better though. With nearly bald tires, I needed to be more careful on the throttle or the rear end just slid right out. Rocco told me to adjust the swaybar and I did, that was ok so for the next qual I moved the ends in even farther, and that's where I left it.
The 3rd qual was amazing for me. Waited at the line for the start, with another guy there and most others on the straight. I pulled ahead, and probably was just landing the camel hump when the guy behind me was setting up for it. I ended up getting about 1/2 a lap above everyone, and lapped a guy. Then I think I flipped in a very far place from a marshal, so I lost the gap between me and the guy in 2nd. I'm not sure if that's who passed me or if it was one of the guys that was a lap behind. I ended up with something like 11 laps, 5:05 (I think). I wish I could drive like that more....
That vspec rips!!! Where I would normally have to keep alot of momentum to get over things, I can just tap the gas again and make it! Clearing the camel hump in no problem at all, I don't have to swing wide either. I was watching, I was the only person constantly doing that.
Fun day all in all, I'm going to try to head out there next weekend too.

just dont get too used to correcting with the throttle all the time, it will bite u in the ass big time outdoor, ur better off learning to drive a solid line every time and if u get squirrly try to set urself up to double it or whatever. Indoor racing is just about getting more practice time and staying sharp for outdoor

I just ran the truck today...
The day didnt start out too good...
I bent a shock shaft during practice when a buggy jumped onto the back straight and landed right in front of me when I was going down it WOT
At least thats all that broke....the buggy had both arms dangling from it :p:
Got that fixed thanks to Chad for selling me a shock shaft.
1st heat I drove like crap and then my body shifted and covered up my exhaust....thought something was wrong with the engine so I pulled off early.
2nd heat I drove better and didnt have any problems.
3rd heat I changed my rear anti-squat looking for a little more rear traction and it worked...it was my best run...12/5:02
it could have been a 13 lap run had I not crashed on the last lap, but it was still good for a 2nd place start in the main.
Main race I was running good, going back n' forth with 1st place John Adams....I even led a couple laps but,
about half way though the race he passed me and pulled away when I got tangled up with the hack fest while trying to lap people.
Then I messed up my last lap and ended up getting 3rd overall.....still not bad I guess

That's exactly why the midwest is not in the A-Mains at the Pro Series! Until the guys in the A-Mains can drive a clean race here we'll never move up nationally.

I do think that is true....IMO 12 trucks are just too many for the indoor track.
It seems like they just carried over the format from out doors, which was fine for 12 trucks.
I know last indoor season they didnt run that many vehicles on the indoor track.
Im mean what is the point of qualifing if they just put all 12 trucks on the track for the main race anyway?
Then you get the beginners running with the fast guys which makes it hard to drive clean when someone is crashed in front of you on every turn.
Another problem is people dont know how to limit their speed when someone is in front of them... everyone just plows into the back everyone instead of waiting for a time to pass.
I know I got wrecked twice by the same truck, AFTER I passed them clean, while lapping them no less, and the very next turn they hit me from behind and took me out
Oh well, what can you do?
I'll still support Leisure Hours and love racing, so I'll just live with it like everyone else

I agree with Eric It was a short day anyway they could have split up the truggy class.
