Why buy that when you can get a slightly used, and much better, Ofna box off of ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/OFNA-CHROME-TOP-STAR...dZViewItem

I use the exact same box for my 8ight and works great . Easier than using my crome top for that buggy . You can fit a gell cell in there and get one for like $17 from Tower .

but satoch will the ofna one work good with the 8ight. i want one that lines up good and works w/o modifications. And one that will hook up to like a regular battery and work good with one.

Get a 7AH gell cell , Tower Hobbies has them for around $18 . Depending on which charger you have you can charge it with that.Or can buy a wall charger for the battery and is $10.99 .In the box you are looking at I just Shoo gooed the battery in place , I also put some liquid electrical tape on the battery connections after connecting the wires so they wouldn`t short out on the box incase the battery ever came loose. The Ofna Chrome Top will work but at least for me it was a pain and the smaller box was easier . Plus I have H8 and is nice having a box set up for each bug .

The only problem I've ever heard w/ starter boxes and the 8ight is that the flywheel hole in the chassis is smaller than standard. So the starter wheel needs to be beveled on both sides to get good flywheel contact.

I didn`t have to for either box . Long as you get the bug set perfectly on the box there is no need to .
