just post a pic of your first off-road rc car, I am curious to what people started with, I am new into nitro rc, but ran 1/10 electric off-road many years ago, this was my first car from decent manufacturer, boy was i happy, only bad thing is i got it built and painted it, took it out for its first run, the car had a metal antenna believe it or not, i jumped it on the first run and flipped it, landed on its top, snapped the antenna, and then flipped over to its wheels and took off like a bat out of hell and smashed a wall, It was all broke up to hell, it had nylon suspension arms integrated onto the chassis, the whole chassis was nylon plastic..... I was a crushed little boy, that was my first experience with a kit r/c car, I later on went on to own Rc10, Ayk Radiant, Kyosho Optima, and a losi Junior2 was my last rc car i bought until recently i bought a ofna 9.5 kit, that i have made a pro, Next to come is a truggy, and a real engine / starter box, I only have owned pull start, and I am ready to get away from them.......I think im ready for real engine soon with my truggy
heres the car mash:

this isn't a picture of mine, but this is what I have, and still have it, but it hasn't run in years. I upgraded to a esc, boca bearings, and a 14t double before the truck was ever run once, I bought it back in like 96' or 97'

O and how i got into it. I have asked for RC's my whole life. And this summer she said that i should go to the hobby store becuase they had some gas powered ones. So i went and cashed $500 on a tmaxx and all its necesities. EVERY penny in my wallet. My dad flipped a shit. LOL

had to be back around 1985-86...I bought the Grass Hopper because the Hornet was out of my price range at the time...
Oh but the cool blue anodized upgrades made up for it!! Oil filled coil over shocks, full ball bearings, Big Black Foot monster tires on gold wheels...w/ custom adapters... with some airplane electric motor I picked up at Venture Hobbies....and of course a series of custom painted lexan bodies

I don't have pics either...but I received my first off road r/c in 1998 for Christmas. It was a Kyosho ATV Quad Rider. I thought it was the coolest thing because it was really scale compared to the quads I raced when I raced quad motocross. Solid axle with a single swing-arm, mono-shock, chain drive...yeah baby. There was even a molded rider that looked pretty good.
It handled like poop however, and all the weight of the rider on the quad made it a top heavy beast that would either endo or loop out over any size jump. It powerslided pretty well however, and I never knew it handled bad back then because I had never driven any other 10th scale truck, buggy, or anything.
Then in 2003 my buddy took me to a local race and let me drive his 8th Scale Mugen MBX4 That's all it took
I still have it...the Kyosho Quad that is.

first hobby class car was a Kyosho Raider 2 in like 1993.....I was into RC all my life but I could never afford to get a "good" rc car. The best cars I had up until then was
Lobo 2 (from Sears)
Golden Arrow (Radio Shacks top of the line)
And some of the bigger, faster Nikkos. Back when they had 2 stick controllers with a "turbo" shift on the throttle peg.
Mugen MBX5T
RBS5
RB2045
Futaba 3PM
Hitec 5955, 5965
