Shit. It was rough to watch, but you can't blame the WHOLE game on Rex. He tried to make things happen and made some mistakes. The colts walked all over our defense though..... Hopefully next year rex can stay solid. They will still have a good team.

All this "Rex blew it" talk is crap. Someone asked "What has Rex done good?" Won 13 regular season games, 2 post season games, took the team to the BIG GAME. That's not enough from someone who only played 1 1/2 games in the NFL in the prior season? YES, he did make rookie mistakes, but let's look at the Defense. EVERY good defensive play, Urlacher was on the screen, didn't matter if it was at the line of scrimage, downfield, or behind the line. There needs to be more defense than 1 man.
You have to give Indy a little credit on their kickoff tactics. If Hester was deep, they kept the ball short. If Hester was off the field, the went deep. I don't want to sound like a Cubs fan here, but Rex will be a little more seasoned next year, and will probably have a better season. Hopefully the rest of the team can play as solid as they did most of this season.
I'll keep my God, my freedom, my guns, and my money. You can keep "THE CHANGE."

Ya,you have to remember that Rex doesnt have much field time before this year. So of course he is going to make mistakes. Is this game lost because of him? No. The whole team didnt play like they did the past 2 games before. The first quarter, yes that was our bears team. But after that,it was not our team. Blowing tackles, missing the runner, playing to deep off their man. All of those things along with the weather is what caused us to lose this game.
Indy even said that they watched the bears offence and it played right into their defence style. But bottom line is,they didnt play bears ball. And indy saw that and took it and ran with it. I watched so many times that D line let that hole open up. The corners blitz in and run for manning and watch rhodes run right past them because they were to focused on manning. The defence can bear most of the reason to why we lost because they ALL didnt pull their weight. The LB's did their fair share if not more, but that wont win ball games. Everyone on that team put chicago back on the NFL map and I for one expect it to stay that way for a few more years. But also, look at the good side to this. We have a team that is back to back divison champs. NFC champs. A young team with a great head coach and staff to back him up. If we can keep briggs and a couple of others. The core team is staying. This is going to be a team that the NFL watches for the next few years. We made it to the big dance while all those other teams were at home watching.

As a Cubs fan all I have to say is wait till next year!!!!
As a bears fan I can say to the AZZ packers fans, the only thing you have to look forward to next year is another chitty season woth Brett Farve!!! Hope you all enjoy losing as much as you love ripping on the bears for going to "the game" and you sitting at home playing with yourselves! And Casketman, love the Slipknot quote!

I'm not a bears fan but im going to have to say that yes, rex grossman lost the superbowl for the bears, the defense kept it close until the 4th quarter but anytime you as a quarterback have 4 turnovers then you can't expect your team to win the game thats a 56 point spread right there every turnover is 7 your should have scored and 7 the other team gets a chance to score. he could have made something hapen by not fumbling snaps and giving his team a chance to score.

REX GROSSMAN SUCKS!!! Only if we spent some money on a good quarterback we mighta won it...

Let's not forget the Colts were favored to win by 7 going in. The Bears did their best, which was not enough to overcome. The Colts held the bears to 11 first downs. They had 24!!!
Learn, re-build, return next year, repeat as necessary.

it was more than just rex that lost the game.

but damn Hester can run hes fast

Rex dropped one ball, and the second one was a bad snap. What happened on the first INT I have no clue. It looked more like a miss-Q on both their parts. Like they each thought they were to do something else. But look at manning at the start. That first quarter was junk for him too. But there is where the differences between rex and manning are. Manning has more playtime under him then rex.
Rex will come back next season smarter and with more understanding.

SLOW REVO Wrote:Greasy, mash: Aint any better. Exactly. He is passed his prime. Even if he does a little better than Grossman right now, where are you in another couple years? Back where you started. It takes time to build a team that can really be strong for a few years. They have made it to the playoffs 2 years in a row now. 1 year without a quarterback, one year with an inconsistant quarterback. Imagine what they can do if they have a dead on reliable quarterback. That is what they are trying to get to. There defense, overall, is very good. They did not play well Sunday. They missed tackles, blew coverage, and didn't play their game. They were so worried about the big play that they let manning drop passes in short and gave them 5+ yards after the catch each play. This is something to learn from. They will be back stronger next year.

The defense would have had to play like they always have, and the offense would have had to play like they played most of their games. If they could have done that they would have won. It wasn't as out of reach as everyone made it seem. It just happened that the offense AND defense dropped the ball at the same time here.

The defense didnt play like crap... When your on the field for more than 2/3 of the game your going to wilt as you begin to tire ... And payton used that, he picked them apart.
I blame the loss on the offense... Anytime you have like 6 drives for less than 10 yards combined your not going to win

Did yo unot see the missed tackles and blown coverage? When you are playing them deep because you don't want to give up the big play, but you give up and 8 yard reception with another 7 yards after the catch..... all of those 15 yard plays are no better. The defense was on the field because they couldn't stop the colts. The Bears played right into their plan. Now Grossman (20 of 28) is not too bad. The 2 pics were trying to force plays. It sucks, but it happened. They needed to run the ball more, that is it. No reason to be passing on 3rd and 2. Overall the WHOLE team lost the game. I am not blaming it on the defense, but they played a pretty big role in it as well. They couldn't even stop Adai. I said before that to win the game they needed to have no turnovers and stop the run game. I can't count the number of 6+ yard rushes Adai had on the Bears. They didn't play like they needed to AS A TEAM.

He had like 5 completion's in the last 30 seconds that dont mean sh!t stats DO NOT tell the tale of this game completely. Why do ya think they missed tackles and blew coverages?
They were run ragged !!!!
