Seeing as the first post (the listing) is gone....how much was this deal for? Did $20 resolve the problems?
Buying a used bashed, raced, Revo is going to come with worn/broken stuff. If it was hidden or undisclosed damage, the seller should work with the buyer to make it right. As a seller, I don't want one unhappy buyer. Unhappy buyers TELL EVERYBODY.
Buyer beware is a good rule in any deal, friends or not. If you don't like the look of the deal, walk away or work another deal.
Trust is what you give your wife and kids. In business deals, it's about the money and the goods, sorry. It's a shame that an longtime member is banned over $20.

the deal was for 400$, so far it has cost me,
engine mount $15
2 shock rebuild kits $16
1 set of shock shafts $10
set of hinge pins to replace missing ones $8
both bodies completely destroyed (hense his screen name) $25
only 1 set of tires out of the four are worth a sh!t, originally he agreed to refund money, then no hear from him for a few weeks, then he tells me i can meet him at LH to get money.......night right before we were supposed to meet he gets online and tells me he has decided not to refund my money and he was getting out of the hobby so he really dont care what i say, he sais he would go to LH and buy parts and have them brought to track. That never happened either. So Dave, it is far more than the issue of $20 in parts.

Yep, I can see it being more than $20 doing it to fix it up. And if he wrote-off you and the hobby, that's his choice to leave his legacy to be written for him.
I guess, if it's my $400, I'm taking the time to give it the once over before making the exchange.
Sorry to see you are going through that much agravation, and when it's done you will be selling it off anyway.
Maybe a new RTR Revo for the son should be the way to go for the short term? I know a guy.
