Stupid maxx, I can't get the 2.5 I just picked up to start in my Maxx, Glow plug is working good, if I put my finger over the stinger to get fuel to prime up to carb it seems to want to start but never takes off, it only wants to start if I cover the stinger? I bought the fuel tank off e-bay after I broke the first one, has new fuel line on it? Where am I goin wrong

Try to turn your idle up a little bit.

No used engine, it's good I know that.
Traxxas I bumped the trim up to get it off idle a bit and same thing? It seems like it's not building pressure to push fuel to carb, I fixed the o-ring on top of tank to help seal it?

Thanks Matt

It's at the stock settings, all I ever did was try to lean it out a bit then went back to the fat side!

I'm not sure what you mean, but turn the idle up on the carb, not the radio.
Also check your seal from the motor to the manifold then the manifold to the pipe, also make sure the gasket in the top of your tank isn't pushed up.

everything was good then all of a sudden it would not start.
check the one way bearing on the back plate.
if it's locked it will not run.

Give it some throttle (like blip the throttle) while attempting to fire it and prime it as much as needed. I've seen some 2.5's that need mass priming to start and others that start with no priming at all.

how is the o-ring on the fuel tank? how is the pipe internally. i know i had two traxxas plastic pipes melt internally. what could be happening is the inside is partially covering the outlet to the tank and only when you plug it does it have enought to force presure to the tank. also check the little nipple on the bottom of the tank. a piece of junk may be partially blocking the hole restricting flow or maybe something in the carb.
If at first you dont succeed, suck another seed!
