Before you buy a new clutch make sure everything is tight, the screw that threads into the crank that holds the CB on came loose on me one time and it was doing the same thing your is.

I'll tear it all apart tomorrow and check it over before ordering parts.

I'll be sure to check the bearings too.

When I was running electric, I was always ran AE. Ran nothing but. With AE you always know that you are getting a quality product.

LOL avid has the best bearings hands down even the bigger ones that go on the rest of the car.

Ok, I pulled the motor out to get a good look. I pulled off the clutchbell. Is that bearing on the front of the cluthchbell the one you are talking about? It does feel a bit gritty, but does spin freely.

not too many carbs have the high speed needle that far below flush...

Used Sp2 for sale. It is in great shape. Has the kyosho blue chassis
braces, racers edge machined aluminum steering blocks, dual fuel
filters, and tonysscrews throughout. Includes also a set of komodo
dragon 2 med/soft tires with very little wear, 2 painted bodies, a
white HD wing a yellow HD wing and a yellow regular wing. I can also
include a ton of used spare parts almost enough to build another car.
$250 shipped

I thought so too. Upon closer inspection it looks like the springs have been rubbing on the clutchbell too...they actually have flat spots on the coil section of them. I will try to get a good pic of it.

Not sure if that is the way this carb is made or if it was from one of the guys trying to help me tune it at LHR. This thing is an old design. Hell, Its only a 2 needle carb. But the good thing is when I did have it running, it ran like a raped ape. More power than I could possibly need indoors.

Thanks for the referral on the buggy, but I just picked up a mayhem pro roller on RCTech for 75.00 with a boatload of spare parts. Buggy has already been shipped. I know its not a top of the line buggy, but at least I will be able to get parts for it fairly easy. I am going to try to make this motor work in it. If the motors no good, I will have to break down and get an OS 21 or something similar. No Vspec though...not quite in the budget right now.

I may give the TTR carcass to a friend of mine and let him deal with replacing the parts and putting a motor in it. Repairing it and putting up on ebay I will probably take a loss anyway.

Naturally since I am new to this, I have no idea what that means. I am assuming I will need to replace the shoes and springs and of course the front bearing on the CB. Let me know. I will be making a trip to Als tomorrow anyway to get some paint for my rattle can job so I might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Also since I will be moving this engine into the Mayhem this weekend is there anything else I will need for any possible motor alignment issues? Or should it just drop right in?

Ha, got it done already. I have never done it before and with the Sportwerks tool it only took a couple minutes. I was afraid it was going to be a royal pain in the a$$. I replace both bearings on the CB too. Hopefully that will solve my problems and I can get at least a few laps in next Saturday. I should have enough time to get the Mayhem set up before then.
