Ok WELP I got 1 done. The last one. Since AFCE is a rhombus, all sides are the same length. so FC is also 16-x, and BC is 12 (it's a given). So you use the pythagorean thm. and the eq. is the square root of (16-x)(16-x)-144 which equals 32x=112 you divide 112 by 32 and get 3.5. So x is 3.5. Then, you use the pythagorean thm again (now you know the sides of the rhombus are all 12.5) to find EF. the equation is 12.5x12.5+12.5x12.5 and that ='s 312.5. Then you find the sq. root of that, which is about 17.67. <---that's the answer.

Dave not sure how you got the answer to #1, care to elaborate?

And I see that it's a 3-4-5 triangle, not sure where to go from there but I'll look at it for a while.

I'm a little confused. PQ is 12 minus the sq.rt of 85?

root 85 is 9.219544457 12-rt 85 equals 2.78

But there's no way in hell that PQ can be 2.78. Since PQ,PD, and PA are congruent, the PA and PD would also be 2.78. That won't work, because in any given triangle, any 2 sides must add up to a number greater than the third side, but 2.78x2= 5.56

5.56 is not > 12
