Biodragen Wrote:Sorry bout that, was not my intent.
This is a very hard subject for me and it only has been a week
since I gave her away.

Mine was addicted to the biscuts from farm and fleet---she goes nuts over them.

hey man, it's all good... I know what you are feeling bro!

yeah, silly stuff is what I remember, like having to fight to use the toilet because it was time for a drink and stuff Smile

well I had an eglectus bird die about a month ago. i know its not a dog or cat, but i still think it counts.

this wasnt jsut any kind of bird, he (elliot) was like a brother to me. everytime i came home he would say hello and he could basically carry on a conversation with you. I played with him all the time. he only lived to be seven, on the last night of his life he fell to the bottom of the cage and was knocked out, i found him a little later, got him out and got him to wake up, he laid in my arms for about 2 or so minutes....he looked up at me and I looked at him and thats when he just gave up. he had a stroke. i was glad to be the last one to look and hold him, but it still was painful. he passed at home, and we buried him at home. was nicer that way, knowig he will allways be close by.

My dog of 14 years and mother to my now 10 year old pup died. She was in horrible pain making a terrible yelling noise in the garage. We decided it was time to put her down. We took her the vet to have her put down. They gave her the shot in my moms van. We brought the body back home and buried her in the backyard near the fire pit that she used to love to lay near. Digging the hole gave great closure, it was the last thing I did for the dog or good friend. My family held a little ceremony and said our goodbyes. We have a little grave stone, just a rock so the neighbors won't notice. But, everytime we mow the grass or have a fire in the pit we remember the dog that once was.

Reading all these stories of guys losing there Best friends really makes me think about what George is trying to do. G-man is a professional in dealing with people passing on and understands that in most cases when we lose a pet the situation is even harder to deal with. I am dreading the day when my cat passes away or i have to make that tuff decision to put him down or give him away. I remember when i got sick with this diabetes BS i was close to giving him away because of fear he would scratch me and i could have a bad reaction. Im so happy i didnt have to go that route. But to help in Georges info, here is some info on my family dog passing away a few years ago.

My Dads dog Barney was 16 years old, had 2 major surgeries during his life, im talking thousands of dollars. I remember his last days. I went to visit my parents and Barney was having to work real hard to breath, nevertheless he still greeted me at the door. I told my dad that barney aint looking so good and i think hes on his way out. My parents are hard to convince that something is ever wrong. Later that day they had to bring him to the animal hospital, barney had blood coming from his nose and was struggling to breath. My brother called me upset and i tried to console him over the phone. Not long after our phone call barney died in my brothers arms in the waiting room. My family was very upset for a long time.

Not sure how much it cost, i didnt want to ask.
He was cremated separately and the urn is on the china cabinate.(sp)
Not sure if we had a ceremony, but we did remember the good ol days.
DOnt know what could of made it any better or easier, i guess trying to be prepared knowing that one day we all pass. That dog lived like a king for 16 years, you cant ask for more.

Remind me to punch you in the face next time George for making everyone upset and remembering how they had to deal with this, now for a second time. J/K Smile

Thanks for the kind words Joe I think...LOL

Memories are good so you should not want to punch me in the face, yeah the bad memories are hard, but I bet most of you after the bad memories thought of a good memory of that pet...
A friend will help you move, but a REAL friend will help you move a body.
