People are attracted to nitro
#1
It's funny, my neighbors barely notice or could not care when I'm doing high speed passes with my pede. But today I'm out trying to tune my mayhem and there out watching and asking questions. I think its the whole noise, smoke, smell thing Big Grin

Yes it does. I always had more lookers when I was running the savage than the eletric on-road I had.

People hear the sound of a nitro motor and are amazed Smile.

IMO, I feel the uniformed think electrics, no matter how sophisticated or technically advanced, are just RadioShack toys. When they hear the nitro version, they are naturally curious.

I always get 2 questions:

Is that really running on gas (or, does that have an engine in it?)
And
How fast does it go?

The third question is usually "can I try?" (from the kids) or "How much was it?" (from the parents).

When I ran my Mayhem up and down that last time yesterday and the coupler had come loose from the manifold it sounded like a harley davidson had rolled down the street Big Grin

I bought some ear plugs for the kids, last time we were at Leisures indoor track (closed now I guess?) it got way too loud for them.

My ears are permenently damaged from years of Led Zepplin and Van Halen..

I can't think of a better way to damage my hearing. Van Halen, Led Zepplin, & Nitro R/C's. Thats an awesome combo. After being involved in live music, & being a private DJ for about 10 yrs. I'm in the same boat. Like Twisted Sister said years ago " I wanna Rock " Cool

Yesterday the neighbors were having a big party. About 2 dozen kids were watching me run my Mayhem around, they loved it. After awhile I took out my pede...everyone left Big Grin

My first non-radio shack/toy-r-us RC car is a Tamiya TL-01 (Ferrari Modena 360 Challenge - electrid 1:10 on-road) and I was informed that the car would run 20-25mph but I don't really see it going that fast. People tell me it's pretty quick. I like it, but now I want nitro powered. SadSmile

I have the same thing happen to me. I can be outside running an on-road electric and people will just walk right by like its not even there. As soon as I start-up the Savage everyone has questions and wants to watch me run it around the lot.

Does that run on gas?
How fast can it go?
Where did you get it?
How much was it?

Those are the questions I usually get, I've never had anyone actually ask me to drive it though.

I crack up that people think 45 mph is really fast, most RCrs complain its not fast enough.

Over the weekend I brought my maxx over to my aunts garage sale, attracted plenty of people. I find it funny when its makin all sorts of smoke and noise, and people are shocked when I tell them it runs on gas.

People kept asking if it was for sale but I said it wasent. I should have said $2,000 takes it lol.
SOLD: BCE Pro X1-CRT Truggy, Dace Predator/Unlimited Engineering towered VBS Supermaxx

I took my e pede into the hardware store the other day because I needed a certain size screw. The clerk was like, "do you build those?" "how much do would you charge to build one?". Then I told him I had like $600 invested in the pede so far.

I have done some of these things too. Went to a pretty busy auto parts store with a mainly aluminum Maxx. Everyone wanted one till you said the 2500$ and it's yours ! They cause great reactions period from what I've seen here.
