Has anyone also thought that if they stay running both on and off road. They might as well set up a bed there because they would be there all weekend? LOL. Not that most would have a problem with that, well besides all the driving. But for those who have girlfriends or are married..I would guess they wouldnt like that to much.

Well as much as I love my 1/7 it seems I can't race it at LHR because they don't offer a large scale class. The only place to race it is at the HT is crystal lake. There its pretty much anything goes. TTR/GTP/H17/IGT/HB Lightning street.... If he's got enough to fill a class you can run. When the H17 is race ready (engine is coming) I'll be racing it there.
Quality wise the IGT is the easiest to get a hold of and has the best handling of the 1:8th scales. The GTP has an older heavier chassis and can probably be made to handle just as well. The engine is a fair bit more reliable though. The stock IGT is reported to have serious air leak issues and requires a completely dissasembly and resealing. As for 1/7th scales, the DM-1 and the Hyper 1/7 are the top choices. The Ligthning street can be had cheap, but has no parts supply. The DM-1 is faster stock, but not really. Its a kit and needs electronics/engine to run. So you can build it as you want. The Hyper 1/7 is $750 retail and its quality reflects its price. The only upgrade it needs is to get rid of the rear dual exhaust and a better radio. The stock servo's are plenty and I don't have plans of replacing them on mine. The 2spd w/reverse is the only sore point I have with it. Its very heavy. Heavier than the engine even. I'm pulling the 2spd out of mine and replacing it with a center diff and a lightweight 44 spur. That should quicken it up a fair bit because I'll be removing the entire 2spd along with the 3rd servo. I got my IGT for $329 shipped, and I got my Hyper One Seven for $322 shipped. Both brand new in box. Of the two the IGT is quicker. But with a regular 2spd and a larger clutchbell it will run right up there with the IGT speed wise. The Hyper is better at speed though, its longer wheelbase makes it behave much better and the body is extremely aerodynamic with good down force. Quality of parts goes to the Hyper 1/7 though. Everything is 7075 and its pillowball suspension is very good. And it come with a Hyper .21 8port which is an excellent engine. The stock slicks that come on the Hyper are amazing in a RTR car. The grip and wear is crazy it has enough to grip to make my Jammin buggy to wheelie (swapped them on there for a night of parking lot racing), and the wear has been very good. I've destroyed tires in an hour with the Jammin buggy. The slicks have held up very well on all of the cars I've used them on.

Oh yeah, one more note about the spec class for IGT's. Expect people to start complaining about the stock single disc brake on the IGT. It fades very fast. Just about everyone on the IGT boards who haven't complained about brakes have done the dual disc upgrade. The single disc is insufficient when attempting to slow down a 7lb car travelling 35 or 40mph when there is far more traction than a buggy would ever see on the offroad track.
Think about it, even the RTR buggies come with a single disc front and rear of the diff. But the IGT has a single disc for both front and rear. It fades fast.

So the 1:7 cars are never going to have a class even if enough guys have them? I sorta recall Bernie speaking to this, but I'm too lazy to go search it out.
IGT will be fun to see, if not run. Vehicles that don't jump, I might be better at driving those

I think if you have 3 of anything they will make it a class.

Well...I don't think the track really has enough maneuvring room for anything bigger than 8th scale. Correct me if I am wrong... Im sure if you had like 4-5 guys come in with the bigger ones they would let you run a class that day. But they just arent as popular. Like I said, correct me if I am wrong. DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 Wrote:"big" and "Oval"...think about it....made for each other! Turning radius be damned! Go fast, turn left, baby! That'd be interesting, using the large 1/7th scale cars for Oval, kind of like Nascar-esqe racing, where turning radius doesnt matter. That wouldnt be a bad idea at all, Dave.
