Revo Air Filter (8th Scale)
#1
I know there are a good many Revo guys out there somewhere.

I'm okay with the stock air-filter setup, and I know you can convert to a bigger 8th Scale Filter. I just don't know what kind to get and what kind of modification is involved.

Help would be appreciated

The way I did it-buy a motorsaver airfilter.

Now take the filter neck off of both filters (stock and motor saver)

Take the stock filter neck and trace the outline of the big end onto the motorsaver where it would connect to the filter neck. Then sketch a circle inside of that, about 1/4" smaller.

Cut the MS filter housing on the smaller circle. Try to put it onto the stock filter neck. If it doesn't fit right, make the hole larger (should be too small right now) until it fits almost perfectly. Now seal the two peices together with shoe goo and it works great.

But there might be one out now that comes like that, haven't looked recently.

its perfectly fine, the reason its called the motor killer is becuse guys have had the top come off and filter comes out during a race, so jsut make sure not to break or damdge the little medal holders, or put a stocking on it to make sure it doesnt come off

IMO...

Motor saver is a total POS!!! The reason they are called motor killers is because the foam sits in a cage and nothing keeps that foam firmly seated against the base of the housing... This allows the fine dust and particles to slip past.

Get a mugen set up or the Pro-line...

mugen 1/8 air filter on stock traxxas neck = best airflow/filtering combo. You just gotta buy the mugen air filter, Then you know how the traxxas neck has the little ridge in it that secures it on the stock filter? Just cut the mugen filter open enough to were you can fit the stock neck in there. Then put some shoe goo or silicone around the whole thing and let it dry for a few hours. After that your good to go.

its ben a long time since I did this. I only remember opening a wider hole on the mugen filter. The stock tube I dont remember doing anything to it.
