get some air seal from RE, i believe TKO has it in stock. take of the back plate put some seal evenly on the parts that come in contact with the block only, so a couple mm from the edge of the backplate, do the same on the carb, put some seal on the neck of the carb around the outside and cover the two sides of the pinch bolt with it

^^^ thats a good freakin find man. i try to explain to sooo many people how to seal engines. most dont seem to get it. i dont think im a good teacher. but yeah, it doesnt get any more cut and dry than that.

i recommend doing this to any new engine you purchase... you wouldnt beleive how many engines come from the factory with leaks. (low to mid grade mills)

most likley, high end mills are fine.

it's just call straight up RC Car? I'll go look today, see if I can find it.

I'm kind of a Visual and Auditory learner, I need pics to understand it better, but for the most part I know what you guys mean.

Even high end mills are suspect to it.

Its not like these engines are dyno tested before they leave the factory. Its just a quick visual inspection most of the time.

The carb neck seems to be one of the biggest culprits for leaks.

Point taken...date is 3/15/2007

But I have limited experience in 8th scale so it's cool to read actual comparisons of 3 top buggies instead of individual reviews. It sorta burns me how each buggy gets similar marks in those reviews.

My .02

Sorry...off topic

Back on topic... I remember reading a similar article where they also took out the needles and put sealant on those threads too.

And Czech....what's not "honest" about the article? Just curious b/c u have probably driven them all as well.
