#1
THIS WILL BE EASY FOR ALL OF YOU. HOW DO YOU SET THE MID RANGE NEEDLE TO THE LOW NEEDLE. I NEED TO REPLACE THE "O" RINGS IN THE MID NEEDLE BUT BEFOR THAT THE NEEDLE WALKED OUT (DON'T KNOW WHERE THE PROPER SETTING IS AT) THE MOTOR IS AN AXIAL .32 Confusedalute:

Generally most engines have the mid-range needle's brass fitting set flush. Contact the engine manufacturer and ask them where its supposed to be set. They should be able to help you get it set correctly again.

RC Boat Modeler has an excellent article that explains how to adjust the mid-range needle should you ever desire too. Its the issue with the Blackjack 55 on the front.

you really wont gain anything from tuning the midrange, sure you can do it, it just changes the points where the LSN and HSN act on the fuel flow just set it stock and leave it

yeah, get it to manual specs and leave it, thats all I ever did, and I can tune an engine like a bitch, I can damn near tune optimum without a temp gun, ask punk azz Czech............hahahahahahaha Wink

OK I replaced the "O" rings and the problem now is that under hard acceleration it looses power or stalls then goes like a bat. Is this an adjustment with the low speed needle. in or out and how much (+1 hr or -1hr) I'll get the temp. for you later.

So, if this makes sense, don't know if it does. a Mid range adjustment would adjust power curve? like lower higher? that's what it sounds like don't know if its true or not.

no it really doesnt adjust the power per say. All it does is change where the lsn stops acting on the tune. so if you richen the mid range you will need to lean the lsn but in essence wont change your tune at all just how to tune it. Now if you really wanna get technical with how you drive and if you can figure out how much you use the lsn and hsn while driving you can optimize the tune and in a sense make more power, but its just way to technical and the way offorad is its not worth doing. Thats why you see all these mfgs that started with mid range needles getting rid of them on their newer motors its really not worth changing it at all. maybe onroad it would be better but still more of a head ache

Ahh. Makes sense. I was thinking it might possible be similar to Cam timing on a car engine. Advance, Retard. changes your torque/power curves.

kinda does, but not as easy to make it better. if you ran at the same track/layout every weekend u could prolly do it pretty easy but it'd give the best tuners headaches lol

tuning still gives me a headache. I just get it decent with smoke, and idle then I call it good. Lol...There's no replacement, for displacement. If

lol, I probably spend the least time tuning my engine out of most people. I run it and then I might make an adjustment. sometimes I'm just lazy.
