hey all i'm getting back into RC'ing from the late 1980's when i was racing a wild willy and RC10 electric buggy....due to brain surgery to remove a tumor august of 2006 and after months of rehab to learn how to walk and eat all over again....i'm now looking for a hobbie that i can do now to where my nerve damage won't be an issue....just got back on my 500.00 mountain bike i thought i'd never ride again, but the way i used to ride is history....i can just barely keep it straight on pavement now, but hey i can still ride it and not have to sell it....i'll be getting into crawling and racing with a truck "truggy" whatever they call them, lol....not sure if i want to go nitro or electric yet for racing, 4wd or 2wd buggy or revo....been pouring over a ton of info on this site and will be looking for more in the future................bob

Welcome back to the hobby. Do the doctors think your motor skills will continue to improve?
Well, if you want a truggy, then box stock your only choice is nitro, however you can covert to electric later. There really aren't any electric 1/8th scales out, the E-Maxx is large enough to qualify as an electric 1/8th monster truck, but its not a truggy.
I think electric might be easier for you due to less care needed for the cars itself.

Nitro is all the fun loud noises and fumes...It makes me mad...yet...so happy sometimes.
RC8 8th Scale comes built with no motor/electronics. Easier to convert probably if you wanted to go the electric route.
LSP lots of Khz, Werks .28 8 port.
Revo 2.5, TRX 3.3 Engine, Center Diff. Fast and Turns on a dime.
