In the Market for a new Radio.
#1
I'm looking to upgrade my aging Dx2 for a new radio system.

I was looking at both the new Futaba 4pK and the Airtronics M11.

Looking for some opinions on the pros and cons of each, testimonials etc. Either way it will set me back some coin so the price diff is negliable for me...it;s worth the money so I dont have to upgrade for another 4-5 years
LSP lots of Khz, Werks .28 8 port.

M11 is like holding a brick. Dunno about the 4pK. I would personally recommend the React.

I like the M11 I dont have very big fingers so the trigger fits me better, the 3pk has a big ass trigger and its a pain. I love the M11 throw a lipo in it and its fine. Some people say its heavy, they must not be ripped like me Wink

I lean on the drivers stand anyway. pisses people off sometimes. So, any reccomendations for the Futaba? Im just trying to get the best product with the most features. React is a little overkill i'll never use the sensors I don't think.

the futaba FASST setup is the fastest setup out there fwiw. Im an Airtronics fan, the radio just feels better and im sure with their new 2.4 setup it would be nearly as fast. I would recommend holding a few different radios and making ur choice that way, the features are all very similar

I loved my m8 when I had the spektrum in it. I tried a few m11's and I loved that radio as well. Airtronics got my vote.

I like the feel of the M-11/M-8, and i have held the 3pk (no one that I know has the 4pk yet), KO-Propo (sp?) (also the same thing as the JR R-1), and the new Spek. DX3-R (light as hell).

I would say I love the feel of the Airtronics radios, then the KO/JR radio has a nice feel to it. To me it is very close in feel to the M-8/M-11. With the 3pk it takes me way too long to get a feel of it, it is just unatural to me, however I do like the feel of the handle (again I haven't tried the 4pk as no one has one near me). With the DX3-R, it is the lightest radio I have ever held, although to me it feels as if it goes to a toy RC car. The handle just feels odd, and the wheel is really big (I like the smaller wheels). To me the best thing it has going for it, is the fact that it is the lightest radio on the market which might help in the 1 hour long mains (then again if you like the feel of one of the other radios that really isn't an issue).

Really I can say what I like and don't like on how they feel, but your best bet would be to try them out to see what you think. As for the features most high radios all hav about the same things, so you are better off with one that feels right in your hand, not the one that has the most features.

I'd say go to your lhs and hold them all in your hand. Then choose the top ones for comfort, come home and compare the ones you chose, and pick the one with the best price/performance point.

The react is very light and it does have a lot of features. The temp sensor was nice. People said it was only a degree or two off from the exergen temp gun. You could set an alarm to where as if it reads to high it will let you know.

Plus what else seems cool is that, It's software based. so the Radio is only as good as your software and stuff. SEems neat. Liked the ABS option, wonder if you cna have Traction Control like the M11
I dont even know how you can have that on an RC anyway

Bawsicly I got mental problems I need top of the line or i'll feel bad buying it. So Im narrowed between React and M11
