My new ride

lol, I got nothin man, It's original to something but with a motor swap it's hard to say unless you look up a wiring schematic. It might be a MAF but I know my 98 doesnt have one.
LSP lots of Khz, Werks .28 8 port.

IDK what that is?
Two wires coming out of it, then they join into a larger harness.

intake air temp

most aftermarket air intake tubes dont provide the hole for the IAT sensor. Also if you have a poorly maintaned airfilter at the end of the tube you might want to take some carb cleaner/brush to the throttle plate. That might help your slight idle lope.

Nice. Thanks guys. Should I just drill a hole in the intake and get the sensor back in there?

And I think I'll clean the throttle plate sometime soon... the last airfilter wasn't so great, I replaced it when I got the car.

yeah could probably drill a hole, make sure you seal it up with Sensor Sealer (Im sure you have some lying around)

If your going to drill the hole, make sure to tap it as well and use teflon tape around the sensors threads.

doenst look like that sensor has threads. I think originall it just stuck into the rubber intake thing

I think Ponch should save his money and just drive it. It is an excellent car for his first one. As soon as you start modifying it too much it becomes more unreliable. Save money now and you can have the car of your dreams down the road. The longer you save the more you will have so you don't have to work your ass off too long! You can race that thing too without making modifications. Check out mcscc.org.

Speaking of saving money....

Today I'm checking my exhaust system for a rattle. Turns out something is loose inside the actual muffler and I probably need a new one.
So I get the car off the jackstand and my friend says.... "hey why is your clutch pedal on the floor?"

Shit. Mind you, this is like 3pm and I have work at 4.

So I panic... look for any major reason that would be wrong mechanically (pedal off of hanger etc) but that's not it.
I jump on the internet-which says that I have a leak somewhere in the system or I have air in the system which means no pressure with a hydrolic clutch system.

I look around the master cylinder, slave cylinder, inside and out, follow all lines too no prevail. Then I look in the resovoir- BONE DRY. Call up traxxas junkee for a bottle of brake fluid... he comes over at like 345 with it. We fill it 3 times and bleed the system just to get all the air out that was in it, along with the pitch black fluid left over.
Around 350 we get pressure back in the system. not as much as normal, but enough to drive with. I have to fill that again in the morning and bleed it some more I bet.
So it's 353 and I'm out the door in my work clothes. I cut thru a residential area to save some time and not deal with packed main roads.
I'm flyin mind you.
At the bottom of a good sized hill sits an unmarked squad that I didn't notice till he turned on the lights.
Pull over on to a cross street that was right there... The dude drives past, and some guy on the side of the road stops him and points me out. WTF.
He comes over...license and proof of insurance yada yada...
Got the ticket sittin in front of me now lol. Sign here and ya got your license back he says. So I sign and look at my nice $95 fine.

Anybody want to take a stab at how fast I was going?

...Hehe...Im gonna have to take a stab you were flying at least like 60. That's pretty reckless though, not like a young buck with his first car would do that though right?

Get the bastard back who pointed you out!!
I had the same clutch problem with my Vette. The piston seal had gone out in the slave cylinder and all of the fluid went into my bellhousing. I had to replace the whole slave cylinder even though it really just needed a new o-ring seal. It was a bitch to bleed too!
I hope your luck improves.
It sounds like you're having the same luck I did when I was 17!

Mmmkay yep, 53 in a 25.

And my clutch system is still leaking. wtf. Got to find the leak, it uses the full resovoir in one day... And I don't want to keep filling it up b/c that's just masking the problem.

I had no idea honestly... I learned alot more once I got the car then before I bought it.

The motor is a little bigger than stock, but idk why you would go thru the hassle of an entire swap for 20-30 hp...

At least it's Vtec lol

well, to be honest if he swapped in a B-Block engine there is limitless options and parts for that series block. with the right work and cams and head, you can turn about 11,000RPM all motor on those cars. There's a little sticker on the timing belt cover, should read like d, b, and then 16 or 18. If you look at that you'll find your series and size.

11.000 rpm? are you stoned??? if the kid had the kind of money to make that kind of hp not including the trans work he would need and the suspention / tires to make it hook, why wouldnt he buy a fu@###$ new car?

did you forget he works for subway.
