all we need is the main power supply from a pc that has the ratings we want, it's th box in the upper rear corner of your pc... open up the case and that sucker comes right out, trim about 50 wires and a couple of other things and you have a dc power supply...

by the way, Jeff/Matt, you have a pm in about 5 minutes...

well I have a cpu in the attic but it just needs a hard drive. Hmmmm. it's only 3 years old though hmmmmm. I'll think about it.

Jeff, I have an extra supply, if it's rated right, you can have it...

now, I just spoke with geek (my little brother) he says that he doubts that the speed controller can actually detect the power (ac, dc, or exact dc) so it'll come down to is the speed controller rated to handle the voltage and just as importantly the amperage....

hey here is some pics of the one I just built. Put a led in it too like a power light. Pretty easy. Only got zapped 2 times. I didn't know I had to wait for capaciters to discharge lol
