Village RC Track
#1
Does anybody know of any local villages or townships have a RC track. LH is a great place but it is a bit of a hike. I have contacted my local park district, Tinley Park, asking if they could build one. I know that it is a long shot but they do have a skateboard park. After a little research I have found a few municipalities around the country that have built them.

I move away and things finally pick up in Tinley. Just my luck.

Anyway, I found a track in Frankfort, not far down from my old house which was on 80th and 179th. It looks like it was made out of old baseball diamond dirt but molded together. I bet if you go down there and talk to one of the district guys, they would let you throw some actual dirt down and make a real track. There is plenty of space as I recall, with nearly 100 yards of space that I would imagine is usable.

Let me know if any bashes are going down in Tinley.

Here is the response that I got from the Park District. Any suggestions that I can take back to them?

Thank you for your email regarding an R/C Track. We are always open to new ideas and we are constantly evaluating our parks and what we have to offer. When a resident makes a request we are happy to look into it and see if it is a viable project to undertake. I am not that familiar with an R/C Track. Is the track in Joliet run by the Park District or by a private operator? What type of space is required and can you give me some detailed information on what goes into developing an R/C Track? Thanks

I knew one of the streets was a state. Thanks for that.

When you get a chance, check the track out and maybe send them an email with some pictures of the track and where it is located. I know Frankfort has tons of parks so be sure to specify it if it has a name.

Off LaGrange rd go east on nebraska to first street make a left go all the way to the end of street and park in the last lot and its right there.

I think as long as you are willing to put in the time and work on the track, they shouldnt have a problem. They already let someone do it once, why not let another person do it again for free? When I last saw the the track it was maybe 1/3rd that size, so expansion is definitely going on.
