I'm having some bad luck
#1
Ok, I got my spektrum receiver back today, I go to run my maxx, I was just doin some high speed passes and wheelies through my lawn and such..

While I was making a turn, the engine with WOT for about 7 seconds not moving... how much damage did I do? The head was smoking afterwords.

How is this even possible? The carb was in the idle position the entire time, yet it was screamin full RPM not moving. (Thank god the spur stripped or my maxx would have went full speed into a neighbors BMW)

sounds like your linkage popped off. Also a motor cannot go WOT if it's at idle, the slide has to move all the way open to go WOT.

Your motor is prolly fine

Yeah, just got hot (really hot) but it's probably ok...have you run it since?

I did this one time with a T-Maxx trade, the guy had used 70/30 and my Tx was at 50/50. Damn thing nearly ran up the bannister before it died of sheer exhaust.

It was ok afterward.

I'm sure it is fine. I've had engines go nuts on me and take off heating the engine past 300 deg. I had the linkage pop off my hyper 7 before and engine reved up all by itself. After I shut it down the temp was a way hot 380 deg. Engine was fine afterwards.

If you are worried I'd pull the glow plug and put a couple drops of oil into it. Use WD40, motor oil, just oil to make sure its lubed because high heat can break down oil leaving little left to lube the engine. After the couple drops of oil then pull the pull start a couple times with no plug just to get oil into the engine and to be sure there is no mechanical damage and it rotates smooth. Then replace the plug (preferable wiht a new one just to be safe) and start it up and easily run it for a few minutes before getting hard on it again.

why do you suspect the bearing? How is the motor acting?

a pool of red stuff on my table, and red stuff dripping from the flywheel

goin max RPM with the carb being idle.

A motor tear down and stuff like that is not something I am looking forward to doing, so I am going to take it to hobby town and see what they can do.

HT will charge you like $25 to tear down the motor. Why not give it a shot yourself? You have to learn sometime. What better time to learn then now!

Basically your going to pay then to tear it down just to have them tell you it's broken? What a waste of money!

This is just my opinion

They said I would be better off sending it in for repair since it is still under warrenty. I guess I could deal with another 2 weeks without my maxx, at least I know the engine will be put back together right.

Motor tear down is super easy...these engines are very basic and easy to re-assemble.
