Is the Savage still the most durable?
Posted by: RCDad - 07-21-2005, 07:54 AM - Forum: Racers Forum - Replies (13)

It seemed for a long time the Savage right out of the box was the most durable MT around. I was just curious if the Revo is better now or?

I'm Looking to get a buggy
Posted by: bigjs - 07-20-2005, 05:18 PM - Forum: Racers Forum - Replies (4)

I've been thinking about getting a buggy, but I'm not sure what to get. Should I get a used roller, because I don't really need the radio, and can probably pick up a nice engine cheap, or should I get some type of rtr? Also what's a good buggy to get, from what I've read it seems ofna and kyosho are some of the top buggies.

Thanks for your help.

  RealRace RC Simulator for PC
Posted by: DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 07-20-2005, 02:13 PM - Forum: Racers Forum - Replies (5)

Has anyone tried out the RC simulator RealRace? I know the airplane guys swear by PC simulators to get beginners used to flight controls. I wonder if the RC car-truck version is worth the $50?

  What is my pede worth?
Posted by: RCDad - 07-20-2005, 08:44 AM - Forum: Buy / Sell / Trade - Replies (24)

I must be asking way too much for my pede. I thought I'd ask you guys what a good price is.

Right now I've got it listed with a starting bid of $400, I've got 4 watchers, no bids, and over 5 days to go. Should I just wait and see if it sells or not?

This is the only truck of its kind!

I just put the new Fast Lane Machine aluminum transmission on. It is currently geared at 21/81 and is amazingly fast (I suggest gearing it lower).

It weighs 4 pounds, just shy of the weight of a stock Stampede (when weighed on my bathroom scale).

I have many more pictures available.

Upgrades:

  • Fast Lane Machine Chassis
  • Fast Lane Machine Extended Front and Rear A-Arms
  • Fast Lane Machine Front Bulkhead
  • Fast Lane Machine Front and Rear Shock Towers
  • Fast Lane Machine Aluminum Transmission Case
  • Fast Lane Machine Aluminum Castor Blocks
  • Novak Super Sport Brushless System
  • Pro-Line Blade Tires (front/line new)
  • Pro-Line Hole Shot Tires (rear/worn) (would include complete set of stock tires)
  • Futaba Magnum Radio System (transmitter and receiver)
  • RPM Wide Front Bumper
  • Losi Green Springs (front)
  • RCRaven Dual-Rate Springs (back)
  • RPM Bearing Carriers With Large Bearings (front and rear)
  • Adjustable Camber Turnbuckles (front and rear)
  • Hitec 645 MG Steering Servo with Kimbrough Servo Saver
  • Aluminum Idler Gear
  • HPI Aluminum Hex Drives
  • BadHorsie Blue Shock Socks
  • Ofna Wing
  • Includes Two 7-Cell 3300 mah battery packs.

Shipping would be $15.00 flat rate domestic only.

I don't want people to think I'm pricing this too high so here is the breakdown;
FLM Aluminum Transmission $60.00
Tires/Shock Socks/Bumper/Antenna $60.00
Fast Lane Machine Super Chassis Kit $150.00
Novak Brushless System $200.00
Stampede $150.00

Sorry for the lost posts guys!
Posted by: Mr. Tune - 07-19-2005, 10:33 PM - Forum: Off-Topic - Replies (1)

I've been busy trying to get move into a new server this past weekend. Site moves were done without a hitch, but it takes a few days for dns to catch up. The original plan was to have the copied site on the new server turned off so that when it switches over no one can post on the new database. With a turned off board it's left at the state where it switches with no new changes. I can then back it up and be up and running as soon as I notice the switch. Apparently I goofed it, and the site wasn't turned off.

I was left with the desition to lose all posts made since the crossover (around 9am today) or leave it and lose all the posts since sunday. I went ahead and and brought back the older posts.

Any post made after around 9am is lost forever. Sorry guys. I'll take the heat for this one.

Still got the itch for change
Posted by: RCDad - 07-18-2005, 06:56 PM - Forum: Racers Forum - Replies (1)

I haven't lost the feeling for something different, been looking at the Ofna Ravager .28. What do you guys think? Is there something else around that price you would recommend?

I'm just looking for something that's pretty bullet proof and would be fun bash with. 1/8 buggys are so easy to work on and they take a good beating.

  MT Foams

Im looking to get some good foams for my tires. I like the green panther foams but they weigh to much for my liking. I was looking at the Racers edge foams and those look like they might do the job. Anybody have any opinions on a good foams besides the proline ultra firms?
