Al's Hobby Shop - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-10-2006 It's been a while since I went to Al's but man does that place have just about everything. If you need tools or hardware, screws, taps, paint, sheet metal or tubing, they have quite a lot to choose from. I kept thinking it was so far from my office, but it's not too bad. Shopping is fun when they have what you need! Now before y'all jump on me about Leisure Hours shop, I will admit I haven't been there, as it is far from my house, and farther from my office. It may be just as good, but it's not as convenient for me. Al's Hobby Shop - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-10-2006 stick with Al's and u will be happy Al's Hobby Shop - Toughtrax - 02-10-2006 Man I was going to go there today and I got SOOOO lost it wasn't even funny. Al's Hobby Shop - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-10-2006 One way streets and parking in that area suck. Al's Hobby Shop - Mr. Tune - 02-10-2006 Al's is great. It's my lhs. I only live 10 minutes from there. Al's Hobby Shop - Tex - 02-10-2006 Al's is good! As is Leisure! two best shops in chicagoland IMO Al's Hobby Shop - mikecooper - 02-10-2006 I love Al's, that is where I have bought everything for my car so far. I am going there tomorrow actually to buy some fuel, and a front skid plate. Al's Hobby Shop - FreeRideFrosty - 02-11-2006 Al's is my LHS as well. I live about 10 minutes or so away. I have been to both leisure (about 8 times) and Al's (countless times) and I always seem to have better luck at Al's and get better help. (Prices are better too. :-D ) Al's Hobby Shop - mikeh - 02-11-2006 Yeah, Al's is 10 min from work for me, so thats my spot too. Seem to have everything, and if not they order it for you and its in in 2-3 days. With no shipping charges. Beat that Tower! Al's Hobby Shop - J Rock - 02-11-2006 I buy everything from al's too. And they have the best customer service too. very convenient for me too. Al's Hobby Shop - BottledBeast - 02-11-2006 i will only go to al's..... barly 5min form my house, great prices, great help and they always have everything that i need....i got to go tomarrow for fuel and a pair of rims.. Al's Hobby Shop - PoPRC - 02-11-2006 I've been to leisure hobby once so far and I was amazed how stocked that place was. But Al's is closer for me. Al's Hobby Shop - Notochord - 02-12-2006 where is al's?? Al's Hobby Shop - mikecooper - 02-12-2006 121 North Addison Road Elmhurst, IL 60126 Al's Hobby Shop - maxximum_44 - 02-12-2006 Right off of North ave. Al's Hobby Shop - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-12-2006 North ave toward downtown Elmhurst, turn on Addison south and go right to it. Al's Hobby Shop - bandit - 02-16-2006 Yes Al's is great asset to hobby world. They alway have what I looking for when i go there and Chip over there is a great guy (knows his stuff). My Dad and I are also into Lionel Trains (have a 1955 Passenger Liner) and Al's train guys are great too. I haven't really dealt with the other depts, except the plastic model guys they are great to (they where able to get me an out production 77 Trans Am model). Al's Hobby Shop - BottledBeast - 02-18-2006 cant forget alvin here...is also knows whats going on Al's Hobby Shop - chitownbasher - 02-19-2006 Al's really is the best hobby shop in the area. I won't go to any other shop and if they don't have what I want they will gladly order it for me. Also they stay price competitve but with great service. Chip and Alvin always seem to know whats going on and are always very helpful. Can't wait until the weather warms up so I can run more often and take more trips to Al's. Al's Hobby Shop - Tex - 02-20-2006 Hey Sandro, you ever been to Leisure Hours hobby shop? just curious. Al's Hobby Shop - BottledBeast - 02-20-2006 ive been to venture hobbies (i think it was that one) i will never go again...the people that work thier almost got put in the hospital for ripping my buddy off like 20$...al's workers have the best attitude that i have seen so far. Al's Hobby Shop - olds97_lss - 02-21-2006 I'd like al's better if you could just grab the parts you needed instead of having to stand around and wait... Don't get me wrong, it's a great store and they carry a lot of everything. I've just gotten used to the hobby town in rockford where pretty much everything is out on a rack and you just walk in, grab, pay, leave. I always feel like I'm annoying someone at al's since they have to stop, ask me what I want, shuffle through the drawers... Al's Hobby Shop - mikecooper - 02-21-2006 I know what you mean, it also takes a while if there are like 3 guys waiting before you. I was in there today just to get 2 glowplugs, and was waiting about 20 minutes. Al's Hobby Shop - bandit - 02-21-2006 Ah, but while your waiting could here other R/C discussing things, I've have learned about this sport just by listening to the other R/C customers. But it would be nice be able to get common parts myself, but if you think about it their setup keeps the stealing down. Al's Hobby Shop - BottledBeast - 02-22-2006 well being thier for a long time dont bother me cuz i stand around and talk to alvin after and before i get anything... |
