It's been a while since I went to Al's but man does that place have just about everything. If you need tools or hardware, screws, taps, paint, sheet metal or tubing, they have quite a lot to choose from. I kept thinking it was so far from my office, but it's not too bad. Shopping is fun when they have what you need!
Now before y'all jump on me about Leisure Hours shop, I will admit I haven't been there, as it is far from my house, and farther from my office. It may be just as good, but it's not as convenient for me.

I love Al's, that is where I have bought everything for my car so far. I am going there tomorrow actually to buy some fuel, and a front skid plate.

Al's is my LHS as well. I live about 10 minutes or so away. I have been to both leisure (about 8 times) and Al's (countless times) and I always seem to have better luck at Al's and get better help. (Prices are better too. :-D )

Yeah, Al's is 10 min from work for me, so thats my spot too. Seem to have everything, and if not they order it for you and its in in 2-3 days. With no shipping charges. Beat that Tower!

Yes Al's is great asset to hobby world. They alway have what I looking for when i go there and Chip over there is a great guy (knows his stuff). My Dad and I are also into Lionel Trains (have a 1955 Passenger Liner) and Al's train guys are great too. I haven't really dealt with the other depts, except the plastic model guys they are great to (they where able to get me an out production 77 Trans Am model).

Al's really is the best hobby shop in the area. I won't go to any other shop and if they don't have what I want they will gladly order it for me. Also they stay price competitve but with great service. Chip and Alvin always seem to know whats going on and are always very helpful. Can't wait until the weather warms up so I can run more often and take more trips to Al's.

I'd like al's better if you could just grab the parts you needed instead of having to stand around and wait... Don't get me wrong, it's a great store and they carry a lot of everything. I've just gotten used to the hobby town in rockford where pretty much everything is out on a rack and you just walk in, grab, pay, leave. I always feel like I'm annoying someone at al's since they have to stop, ask me what I want, shuffle through the drawers...

I know what you mean, it also takes a while if there are like 3 guys waiting before you. I was in there today just to get 2 glowplugs, and was waiting about 20 minutes.
My R/C's:
T-maxx 2.5- front rpm a-arms, front/rear alluminum skids, pull-start, ofna failsafe, 5 cell hump pack
xmod red 1969 camaro with 6 cell conversion, stage 2 motor and body kit
xmod Red Toyota Supra-no upgrades.
xmod Silver Acura RSX-has green underglow lights, and blue LED exhaust, and body kit.-My parts car(as it is broke, and too lazy to buy part to fix it)
xmod Yellow Acura NSX-has body kit(sometimes put the RSX body on it)

Ah, but while your waiting could here other R/C discussing things, I've have learned about this sport just by listening to the other R/C customers. But it would be nice be able to get common parts myself, but if you think about it their setup keeps the stealing down.
