I bought an RC off ebay once where the guy used red loctite. I about drove to Ohio to murder the guy. That stuff is not supposed to be used on small scale stuff, only real cars and the likes.

Fortunately the guy only used it on the TOPS of the screws, not the threads.

he wasted his time and loctite then. For your sake I'm glad he didn't know to put it on the threads.

Looks nice. I found parts here:
http://www.ehobbies.com/more-thunder-tig...parts.html People say they were really hot when they came out in 1999 and performed competatively through 2002. It shared many features with the Mugen at that time. Said to be bulletproof with the exception of the motor, which sometimes failed due to bad front bearings.
You're never to old to be immature

wow, isnt that like a TT mirage V-spec........pretty cool man, Im sure you will get some fun times out of it
01-23-2007, 02:01 PM
Yep thats what it is...or so I'm told. Haven't got it running yet, but motor looks to be in good shape. Shocks are getting rebuilt today and if I get to it I'll be changing the diff oils too. I hope to have it ready by Sunday, but not sure if that is going to happen. I still need a lot of stuff.
01-23-2007, 02:06 PM
good luck on that man, I need a lot of stuff as well, I know the feeling
01-26-2007, 06:14 PM
Alright! I got my panther tires installed, and shocks rebuilt. I was going to set up my differntials 5-7-5 to start things out. The center diff went ok, but the head of my allen key broke off on the set screw for the front diff and I can't get it out. So the front diff is staying the way it is for now, and I have yet to check the rear diff. I figure I'll see how things go Sunday and go from there.
Just got a hump pack and charger from Als too. And... I have a DX2.0 on the way as well...got a killer deal NIB for 135.00. Things are coming together. Gonna be using the old KO Propo ex-1 on Sunday, but will have the spektrum for after the Superbowl. Satoch doesn't seem to think I will keep this buggy very long. He may be wrong but he may be right...That sounds like an Elton John song.... I am looking forward to seeing what the new Associated buggy is going to look like. Squirrel, Please have the gel cell charged for me. Can't use the box if if it aint charged. I'll be up there about 8 am. I want to get plenty of practice time in. See you guys Sunday.

Oh cr*p! I just realized...I may need some help tuning the engine once I get this thing started on Sunday. I have no experience with nitro so I have no idea how it is supposed to run. So if somone would be willing to help me out that would be really cool.

Ok I am a complete idiot! When I plugged in my hump pack to make sure I had every thing routed right, my reciever started smoking. I was like wtf? Turns out I had the wires reversed and fried my reciever. Not only was the reciever fried, but both my servos were also fried. OUCH! Thank god I have extras. I swapped out the reciever and servos and of course had to run to Lagrange hobbies for a power switch too cuz that melted as well.
So now all is fixed. And I will be running it tomorrow. I am still kickin myself in the ass over that one cuz it was an airtronics fm reciever and the steering servo was a hi torque metal gear.... I am officially a dumbass.
01-27-2007, 07:18 PM
Are you sure that the small pllug that holds the smoke in isn't just loose? You can always carefully blow more smoke in the reciever and replace the plug with a little silicone sealer.
