Next weekend I'll be racing on-road in what's to be a really good end-of-track race.

Looks WAY better now! the lowered body makes it look racier.
I like how you say "this is one sweet racer now" when you haven't raced it! :moon: :joy:

RCDad Wrote:True. I'm glad it won't be so tippy now. Lowering the body an inch won't change the CG by much. Lower the ride height and see what happens to stability. Follow this example: http://www.traxxas.com/products/news/img...yden_5.jpg or http://www.traxxas.com/products/news/img...den_24.jpg

I guess I missed that in the pictures. The arms are level with the ground. I guess that's as low as a Savage gets unless you start re-engineering it. It just looks tall, is all.
09-19-2005, 10:03 AM
I could put it lower but the arms being level should keep it from tipping. At least that's been the experience of others who have done this mod.
09-19-2005, 10:15 AM
I suspect that's true. Level arms is about as low as you can go.
Now, make it wider...........jk. Or heavier, that will make it more stable if the weight is down low !! How about a steel skid plate for the entire length of the chassis? Should make it untippable.......also, jk.

Race Worthy Savage
- Put a 3/8 to 1/4 inch piece of fuel tubing inside your shock to limit down travel - Run 25 wt oil - Run 1 blue and 1 orange spring at each corner - Set your preload to just bring the Dogbones back to level These few things should help your truck handle much better Also set your Camber to Negative 2.. Its help my savage a TON!!!!

Twisted Toys makes extended TVP's that most racers use. I think you can extended the chassis 1 1/2" and it lowers the COG (can't find their website at the moment).
09-19-2005, 03:12 PM
Wow!! I didnt think you'd be willing to go that far!!!
If i were you get the lowered and extened 1'' versions i have them and I LOVE THEM!!!!! Makes the truck truggy like!!!!

Well when LH ever opens I want to race and I'm sure they are not going to have on-road nitro races outside until next year.
